Solid stuff.. similar to what Jenkins and O’Sullivan are bringing up.. they’ve got Caleb running the full offense with some in depth reads and complex concepts. Most teams wouldn’t do that with a rookie but they’re putting it all on him right out of the gate and letting him figure it out.

We didn’t see that with Mitch nor Fields in their rookie years. It was more about cutting the field in half and getting them easier looks. Just a different way to develop a guy. It’s going to be fun when things start to slow down for him and it all comes together.

I felt before the season they’d dumb things down for the 1st 8 games or so and just ask him to manage games, kick field goals, and let the defense do it’s thing. But it’s been the opposite. I look at it this way -it worked for Peyton Manning. They gave him the entire offense his rookie year, let him throw it 30+ times a game and let him work it out. Interesting approach and kind of nice to see in all honesty.

I thought it was fine but it gets into the football weirdo stuff of acting like rote memorization of football terms = intelligence.

Jayden Daniels is running a college offense that will soon be caught up to so we will see a flip of conventional wisdom on he and Caleb

No I’m sure this time its different for Kliff.

It will be if Daniels is in fact great.

Did you see Mitch against Tampa? No way the Bears made the wrong pick passing up on Mahomes. Have faith.

I like the approach Kingsbury has taken with Daniels. And I’ve seen enough rookie QB’s fail at what Jayden is doing to say the kid is doing a great job so far with what he’s being asked to do. If he can stay healthy I think Jayden’s going to be a really good QB in this league.

It’s just a different approach. Eventually Kliff will put a lot more on his plate. Can’t deny the kids made some nice throws so far this year.

Health is always a big factor in this stuff. But I would say it is really big for Daniels. I could see him going the RGIII route

It's a "single read and run" offense, right?

Did Kingsbury think he was going to be coaching Justin Fields?

He's trying to continue failing up. If can fool people long enough, he may get another job he doesn't deserve.

NFL defenses that are getting paid to play aren’t stopping it so far.. if it works, why change it?

I think he's from the Lamar and Fields mold, but I think he has a quicker release than both. IF he doesn't get broken, and can learn to think pass before running, I think something special can be unlocked. As is, I don't think it'll last long.

I don't hope any of them fail unless they're facing the Bears. I just want our quarterback and players to be better. If he's Dan Marino and Caleb is Elway, I'll take it. If he's Elway and Caleb is Marino, I'll probably commit suicide. Just win me some championships.

I'm confident Warner isn't watching the games and never watched USC. Spiegs politely called him on his bullshit.

Doesn’t he have a weekly podcast where he goes thru every game or something, I am guessing he is watching a lot of football.

Not every. I've listened to him the past few weeks. Today date, he thinks the Texans game was is best. If you watched the Bears game and the break down of the film from 3 other quarterbacks, Warner criticized him for things that literally didn't happen last week. Spiegs politely challenged him on it and he immediately flipped.

The most obvious example that he hasn't watched Caleb was his talk about USC having a great offensive line. Anyone who watched them play knows Caleb was running for his life last year.

What's your timeline? I want to see about a half dozen jaw droppers by the end of the season. He had one to Kmet but it's debatable whether that was crazy good or luck.

That TD pass to Moore was pretty awesome, too. There have been a few others in earlier games as well.

I believe I should have a good feel for what he'll be by the end of the Thanksgiving game. I'm willing to wait until the end of the season. A playoff game would be a great piece of data.

Edit: I want to see him operate with the game on the line. Kmet stole that opportunity in Indy with the missed block. Even if he doesn't win the game, I want to see what that heart rate looks like. Being able to handle pressure is important for me.

None have been as impressive as those crazy runs by Fields though.

Its a nine yard pass that literally every starting quarterback at the pro level should be able to make.

it is still amazing to me that you can simultaneously hold an opinion that there is something to build on in the Sox roster and then completely declare Williams a bust just a couple games into his career. You refuse to admit any positive at all. yet you look at 121 losses and you see some positives. You are pushing larry for the most delusional around here
