I think this will be a similar beat down to last week. Everything is in the Bears favor. The strengths and weakness of the two teams are favorable. The spot is remarkably good.

I don’t know anything yet about the playing surface but I’d like to use this as a placeholder for a future complaint about the playing surface.

Can you believe they send these guys to another country and make them play on ______?

I would say for 3rd week in a row, money should be laid down. I think the reason only -2 is Jax second home is London. They probably have apartments there.

Over there it is called a pitch.

I love that it is the first of two games for them in London. They got out of Jax late because of the hurricane so I think they have zero advantage this game. It's also a good thing that they won their first game last week (but were down 14 in the 4th), so they don't have that incentive. I don't know about team records going into a bye but I think they are pretty good. This is just a good spot for us.

Predicting NFL games in general is a bit of fool’s errand, but these London games particularly (like TNF) seem to seldom have any rhyme or reason to them.

I would worry about the Bears protection this week. Travon Walker has come on pretty strong lately. Bears might have looked decent bottling up those Panthers bums but with Walker playing up to his draft position plus Arik Armstead and Josh Allen that represents a pretty significant challenge to just about any offensive line in the league.

When you get one of these matchups where one team’s strength goes off against an opponents weakness it’s not always an intuitive outcome, especially in London. If the Bears can take the running game and screen plays that they’ve had so much success with the last two weeks they can turn on this and win.

If Williams sits around in the pocket just patting the ball, double clutching and taking too long he’ll have issues. He may have gotten away with that against Carolina but this is a significant step up in competition.

I’ll throw out a score just for fun
Bears - 13
Jags- 21
But I really have no idea

It's field turf, Tottenham plays on a completely different turf field/pitch that is on trays and rolls in and out from underneath the stadium.

The travel will have zero affect on if Jacksonville wins or loses this game.

Ever since the NFL started these games people have overstated the jet lag effect on the London games and understated it for West Coast games. Jacksonville is only about two hours further from London than it is the Pacific coast, and even for the Jaguars this isn’t a home game.

NFL London tickets - UK fans lead the way

Tickets go like hot cakes for the London games as the appetite for the NFL shows no signs of slowing down, and for the second year running fans from the UK will outnumber those from overseas.

According to data from ticket marketplace viagogo, 53% of tickets sales have gone to UK fans across the three games taking place in London - but there is still a broad worldwide appeal with tickets being sold to NFL fans from 41 different countries.

But there are major differences in the individual matches which make interesting reading, with the opening game between the Jets and Vikings being made up of 47% UK fans and 53% from elsewhere.

The Bears have attracted the most fans coming over from the United States for the second game against the Jags, while the third game involving the Patriots at Wembley is the big one for UK fans with 69% of tickets on the viagogo platform going to domestic fans in the UK.

It looks like a perfect storm between regular fans of 'London's team' the Jaguars who play annually at Wembley, but also the attraction of six-time Super Bowl champions New England.

Tom Brady and Bill Belichick are gone but the huge support those glory decades attracted still makes the Pats one of the most popular teams across the Atlantic.

Hawg's most exotic trip was to the Dells, but you've traveled to places with a 6+ hour time difference, so you should know better.

Once you get north of Sun Prairie on 90 you are going back in time a lot more than just six hours.

Well, this isn't looking good. Brisker out, Stephenson doubtful and his backup Smith is out.

I agree. It seems ridiculous to put these players on surfaces that are not NFL caliber especially when weather elements add to the danger of injuries.

definitely going to test the theory that the defensive backfield is the deepest position on the team

It would be good to see the Bear's get ahead early in this game for a change because this game has all the potential of a trap game to me. I think that the Panthers will focus on stopping the run and roughing Williams up in a dirty game.

Hopefully they just slide Gordon over there and they play more 4-3 base with Sanborn in

Bears should win this. One thing that worries me is Waldron trying to revert back to showing everyone how smart he is and how creative he can be.. stick to the basics, run the football, let Caleb manage the game, take shots and open up the game more as things develop. Be patient, and let the defense do its thing.
