Now, more reports out of Pittsburgh paint a bad picture when it comes to Mike Tomlin making the change. According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, there a lot of people in the organization that want to stick with Justin Fields as the starter

“There are a ton of people in that place right now that feel like Russell Wilson would limit them on offense in a way that Justin Fields does not,” Breer said on The Rich Eisen Show. “Which I think is a big part of the reason why so many people there just wish that Tomlin would stick with Fields.”

From a production and results standpoint, pulling Fields doesn’t make a lick of sense, and it appears that people within the organization agree and hope Tomlin comes to his senses.

JT comes in upset that Justin is being sat, then watches the actual all-22 and realizes why, over the course of an hour and 29 minutes.. It's such clear film why Fields will get you wins but not when it counts against equal or better opponents.

Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo expressed his thoughts on 93.7 The Fan, explaining why he believes Tomlin made the choice to go with Wilson instead of Fields.

"Yeah, I think so," Fittipaldo said of the offense passing more with Wilson. "A couple of games ago, they were breaking their tendencies of throwing on first down with Justin. They just didn’t hit on them. Arthur Smith runs play-action more than any other offensive coordinator in the league. Justin isn’t good at that, but Russell is really good at that."

Fittipaldo highlighted that Fields missed three consecutive throws during the game, which he believes significantly influenced Tomlin and Offensive Coordinator Arthur Smith's decision to return to Wilson as the starter.

"There was a series in the second quarter where Justin missed three wide open receivers and at Allegiant Stadium. We are high in the press box and you can see how plays develop, and I’m thinking any NFL quarterback is gonna make two out of those three throws. He didn’t make any of them."
