this HC is a bum. I heard on hamp/ob that when the bears players came to flus and revolted after the colts game on how bad the playcalling was, flus said go talk w/ the OC.

tells you enough that this guy passes the buck and doesn't take responsibility.

Bad penalty. Big block of the field goal.

This team was not prepared to play coming off of a bye.

Is 6-11 enough to fire him?

Literally any result should be enough to fire him.

Lots of weird Eberflus hate. His defense gave up 12 points to an explosive Redskins offense. The focus should be on why Caleb SUCKED for about 50 minutes.

His team sucked on offense all day.

Their first competent drive, they marched it down to the one and handed it off to their back up center.

He is responsible for the entire team.

He is showing more and more that he is a good defensive coordinator and a poor head coach.

At some point, the responsibility falls on the players. He didn't tell Caleb to SUCK. His team kept an explosive offense out of the end zone, and they would have won easily if CALEB hadn't SUCKED. It's acceptable to discuss Caleb's shit performance instead of blaming Eberflus.

They gave up 12 points on the road and lost on a lucky play. You all have this weird obsession with nitpicking Eberflus because you believe some savior is going to walk through the door.

Lovie didn't get beat up when Cutler threw 6 interceptions in the first half or Bad Rex showed up. We blamed the quarterbacks.

There's not another coach getting blamed because his rookie quarterback pissed himself for 50 minutes. This wasn't an unprepared team, it was a BAD quarterbacking game. Not because he wasn't prepared. Simply because he sucked. It happens.

He has a 4-3 record and hasn't given up more than 20 points on defense in a year. He's won 11 of his last 17 or so games. Eberflus is fine and getting better.

We're back to not being ridiculous in our assessment of a coach that MANY irrationally hate. Caleb Williams was the difference in this being a blowout Bears win. Stevenson was the difference in the failure of a hailmary defense. Players get paid to execute.

The lack of discipline showcased by a defender showboating to the crowd while a play is going on is squarely on Flus, to say nothing of the fact that the play ended up losing the game for the Bears and the showboat helped make it a completion.

He probably can't be cut but a "conduct detrimental to the team" fine has to follow or Flus is just cuc..err, cooked.

His team scored 15 points and - again - ran a donkey brained play in the goal line costing them points.

He owns the result, not one side of the ball. Demand more from your people.

He had two weeks to prepare for the Commanders and was still outcoached by Dan Quinn.

He’s 3-17 on the road

He allowed a play that got Daniel’s close enough to throw a ball to the end zone

And his starting Stevenson Was talking shit to Redskin fans with his back turn to the line of scrimmage, when the final game play started.

What’s not to like?

Wrong. It's not coaching that caused Caleb to miss 30 layups. His defense gave up 12 points to an explosive offense. That's coaching.

Years ago, Lovie put together a dominant "bend but don't break" defense. When his defense would give up 12 points and lose, MANY would blame the quarterback or coordinator, saying, "If only Lovie could get the coordinator or quarterback right."

When the Bears lost to the Eagles in the playoffs, the defense played great for all but their final possession. When the game was over, no one blamed Nagy for the lack of points scored. Everyone pointed the finger at (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky and Parkey. Nagy was given a pass for his unit until Fields got drafted.

Bearded Eberflus defense keeps an explosive offense out of the end zone. His rookie quarterback misses countless layups. Instead of blaming the player, like they would have in the past, MANY point the finger at the coach.

It is not irrational. He has shown a lot of ineptitude as a head coach.

Wrong. It's not coaching that caused Caleb to miss 30 layups. His defense gave up 12 points to an explosive offense. That's coaching.

But Eberflus' incompetent coaching on the game's last two plays most certainly did cost the Bears a victory.

First, Eberflus chooses not to cover the out route that positions the Commanders for the Hail Mary. That's brutal strategy. They could have easily taken that route away.

Then they fail to take a time out to set up the defense for the Hail Mary. This coaching debacle has at least two major consequences that I can identify:

1) Sweat, the team's best pass rusher and the only lineman who can catch Daniels, stays on the sideline;
2) No reminder is given to the players to have a "deep rebounder" who will position himself behind the Commanders' deepest receiver. As a result, the secondary players line up incorrectly, resulting in the TD.

It's hard to say if Stevenson's mistake in tipping the ball up instead of knocking it down is partially Eberflus' fault as well. Either way, though, Eberflus once again demonstrated a shocking inability to steer the team to victory in a tight situation. His misunderstanding of how to play the closing downs of the game is especially troubling since the odds were heavily stacked against the Commanders.

I should add for my friend "No Accountability" Nas that the Commanders had 0 timeouts left on the final two plays. If Eberflus took away the sideline route and had given up a completion over the middle, the clock would have run out and the Bears would have won.

TOTAL COACHING FAILURE
