Yesterday during the Bears/Jags game was first time I ever noticed her as sideline reporter and
doing those halftime interviews and sideline reports. As Murph would say, she no gouda....
I she'd be better off doing WNBA games. She just comes across as someone who is repeating
NFL lingo and terms without fully understanding the meaning.

That doesn't make sense to me.

There has been way too much made about this script stuff.

The last 2 weeks they have looked really bad in the first few series. So that script must not be that helpful.

Most sports have a probing to start. It's just a way to get a feel and rhythm and look for surprises. It's kinda weird that this is getting ripped. Is it just because it's on paper? Because it surely isn't written in stone.

As long as there is a concept of a plan I am good.

Today segment was great, after Dales blathered on and on about "Flusy" and defending him and Tyrique, and explaining that
she was good with his contrition, Haugh snapped back, "Hold on, I want to back up here" and he disagreed with her
assessment, Dales was clearly flustered at Haugh not in agreement. This segment is worthless, not sure why they continue the have her on.

Maybe her employer is paying for it, either directly or via purchasing a block of commercial time on Audacity stations?

Thank you, that makes sense.

Hang on, you guys think the NFL Network is paying to have her appear on the show? Why would they possibly do that? If any money is changing hands (which is insane to think about) I'm sure it's Audacy-->Dales (with the blessing of NFL Network).

Caesar's paid for Trey Wingo to be a disaster in the mornings.

It could be a form of advertising. "See how good our network is? Come watch us..." I'm not saying that it's happening, but it wouldn't surprise me. I could see it both ways - Audacity saying "we will give you X amount of commercials per appearance."

Yes, there is no way Dales sought this out, or that WSCR said, "we need to get Stacy Dales for a weekly segment!"....She sounds like it's a scripted act.
She has her 3-4 buzz words, and obvious points from the game. Someone probably sends her the script. This segment was definitely setup and paid for
by the NFL. Maybe she gets $50 a week? Haugh sounds fed up, and isn't buying her expertise anymore!

I simply can't imagine a world where the NFL would waste one marketing dollar on buying airtime for any of their staff (let alone one as awful at her job as SD) with Audacy. Do they get a bundle discount from Audacy for having Kurt Warner show up every week, lol? Not sure how we'd ever know for sure, but I'd bet against the NFL scratching a check to Audacy for the honor of having her stammer her way through a segment every week.

I can't imagine the Score would waste time on a Stacy Dale. So it's quite a conundrum.

lol

To me, it's a "name" from the company-owned network who is based in Chicago ... so on paper it should be a good weekly hit. Unfortunately NFL Network apparently has a long leash, and for some reason WSCR continues to have her on (I don't have any doubt that the Score would have her disappear into the cornfield if the NFL were to drop her).

To me, the best segment of radio is when their meatball producer stumbles through an Update, with the phone very professionally ringing in the background constantly, followed up by awkward giggling and a long-winded answer (that contains nothing useful) by Dales. She is so used to not bringing anything to the table that she needed the show's hosts to point out, then blow up, the whole "we didn't have a first 15 plays for the first few games" nugget...incredible.

Why does Mully often close her segment with something like "....good stuff..." when in fact it isn't? Just Asking A Question.

yeah it would be better if he closed the segment with, "look ma'am, you are awful, like beyond terrible, you should really find something better to do with your life"

It's similar to when they end segment with Brad Biggs, Mully says "Bigsy, you're the best!", but just the prior week, he told Jarret Payton he was the "best"?

This isn't specific to this show, but most hosts ask a question, attempt to answer their own question and/or give possible answers and then re-ask the question to the guest.

Not really a great way to ask people questions.
