Dare we say "a must win"?

It sucks finding new reasons to cheer for your team to lose every season.

Agreed, but it’s a bit comfortable. Winning is scary.

And it sucks even more when you realize the team probably won’t make the right decision if they do lose enough to make a change.. beginning the cycle of short lived hope turning to despair all over again.

Bears have played well at home and have shown they are better than the worst teams in the league. Defense will be missing key players again.

Expect the Bears offense to rebound on Sunday.

Bears 31
Patriots 20

I've got no feel for the game. I guess gun to the head, you say "bumslayer" and hope for the cover. Maybe over 38.5 is the play? Beats me.

Defensive coordinators around the league are watching Bears tape and salivating about the opportunities to attack the pathetic offensive line, they also see the high paid vets tapping out on the HC, and opposing defensive players are dreaming about piling up sacks.

A loss here and you might hear the old Ditka quote, "we might not win another game".

Neither offense has proven they can score. I would take the under. Until further notice I wouldn't trust the Bears offense to produce anywhere or trust our run defense.

They are usually pretty good at home. On the other hand they could be in the midst of a full blown collapse. Kind of a toss-up, they probably win it though.

NE is not good. They are amongst the worst teams in the league. The Bears have at least moved into the lower middle class of the NFL.

NE should be able to put up some points if the Bears are missing several starters again. Maye hasn't been awful, but he's also capable of setting up the Bears for some easier scores.

Bears offense should roll here. The offensive line is an obvious question, but this is still a bad defense (on the road now).

I feel pretty good about the Bears rebounding in this one.

3rd game in a row for me saying this but.. this is a game the Bears should win.

And.. I think they will.

Theyre at home, and against a team that is probably worse than they are. I can't say much about their coaching (the Pats that is) but I suspect its not going all that well so far.

Drake May has shown he has talent and can play early on (imo anyway), and the Bear defense will have to buckle down a bit here. But this kid is a rookie QB on the road, theres going to be mistakes and I think this secondary can expose a bit of that.

On offense the Bears need to stick to the run, Caleb needs to take the short easy passes and let the game open up as it goes on. If they can do that they should be fine here. Pats are 22nd against the pass and 26th against the run so those opportunities should be there.

Bears might score 30 in this one because I think NE will have a couple of turnovers. If the Bears defense hasn't quit yet.. the Pats will struggle to score, or at least they should.

The offense looks horrible, the home crowd boos them off the field in the first half and Eberflus makes a couple coaching blunders. Bears win but don't cover

This is kinda where I am. I could see this being one of those super ugly 9-6 games.

I don’t understand the Bears being favored by 6, seems way high. Like Higher than me.

Don't underestimate how bad NE is. Everyone is down on the Bears, but they are much better than NE. Or at least I think.

Your potential franchise QB seems to be making an early power play to get his guy in as HC, fully expected this to happen at some point, and honestly, he is more important to the future of your franchise than Eberflus, so can see Caleb filling the leadership void and starting to make business decisions along with the vets on the team.

We will see where we are at this weekend, will Caleb be able to overcome the ineptitude of his coaching staff, maybe, but can he overcome the ineptitude of his GM?

The lack of oline talent will severely limit the success of this team for the rest of the season, for that reason no game is a definite win, but this is a heat check game for Caleb to see if he has the talent to overcome the chaos.

Is this just speculation on your part, or has something been put out into the ether that I'm unaware of? I'm sure he isn't always happy with how the season has gone, but this is his 1st year in the league so I'd be surprised if he was making noise personally.

Is Kliff really Williams’ guy? He seemingly could’ve pushed that point when kliff was in the building interviewing for an open chair.

He worked with him for one unremarkable year. If Williams is really into power plays, he’d push for Lincoln Riley.

Depends on if you believe that Caleb Wiliams does not know he is more important to this franchise than Matt Eberflus?

I am sure he does, he likely talks with management and ownership regularly.

I follow the Bears pretty closely, not as closely as I used to but I keep up, and I really have no idea who these offensive linemen are.
