Iowa plays 14 games a year?????

Remember when I said they play 14 games when they only play 12?

You think Iowa should be up there year in and year out with Alabama and Ohio State? Would love to hear the rationale for that.

Where did I even hint at something like that?

I guess Iowa should just cycle through a new coach every 4 years like Georgia Tech, Virginia, Texas Tech, etc. has worked great for those schools.

That's why I said it would be a great job to have.

One Post wrote:
Iowa has a great fan base that understands who they are and what reasonable expectations are. Probably the reason why Iowa has had a grand total of two head coaches since Jimmy fucking Carter was president.

That was the whole point of my post. Thanks for summarizing it so succinctly.

So Indiana goes to seventh. They could be as high as fifth depending how Tennessee and Penn State look (they really should be ahead of Penn State to begin with).

The question really starts to become twofold for me: do they still make the playoff if they lose to Ohio State and the real tough one…should they? As you look around for me the answer increasingly becomes 1. Yes 2. No.

IU deserves to make it. Great season.

I hope they get blown out in the playoffs though.

It’ll be interesting if Ohio State beats them and loses again to Oregon in the big ten championship.

If Indiana loses to Ohio State, does that mean they don't make the final 12?

Indiana currently 10th best odds at +2500, between +2300 ND and the U at +4000.

I heard about the James Madison front-seven thing from some yt tout back in October and thought it made sense they'd be a better team than expected in Cignetti's first season + Saban coaching tree. Picked up a couple Hoosier natty future tickets at +13000/+10000. Fan duel offering cash-outs at 3.5x and 2.5x currently.

Prolly depends what people think of the B1G and the SEC.

One loss indiana (OSU) and one loss Penn State (OSU) getting in? How do you weight a 2 loss UGA team against a 2 loss OSU?

That’d give you prolly 4 SEC, 4 B1G, three other conference champs and ______.

Would 1 loss ND get in over PSU, IU, 2 loss B1G/SEC teams? What if a non-power 5 is ranked high enough to get an auto bid.

I would expect nothing less Brick. If you wanted them to win anything in the playoffs we would need to have you examined.

The Athletic’s little playoff simulator thing has Indiana at #3 in the country with a 96% chance to make the playoff.

I am giving PSU zero benefit of the doubt. They have fed off of lower ranked opponents for a decade. Enough of them.

Oh-for-Florida

Florida's lost their local recruiting edge. In the 90's it was FSU-UF-theU all competing every year.

Heck, when UCF and USF started their programs they immediately became competitive. South Florida via recruiting almost exclusively within 100 miles of the school under Jim Leavitt. 90% of Leavitt's roster were locals that year they were briefly ranked 1 or 2 nationally; which was fraudulent as hell. Rankings were wack back then. Win-Loss record determined everything.

So if you're a 2 loss SEC team and you don't make the SEC Championship game, is that somehow better?

You sit at 2 losses instead of playing another game and possibly catching a 3rd L.

Assuming Georgia tags Tennessee with its 2nd loss Saturday, Texas only remaining 1 loss overall SEC team. Texas ends the season @Texas A&M. Both Texas and A&M have 1 conference loss. So only 1 of them will finish the season with 1 SEC loss, assuming they win their other games.

So SEC championship game likely to be a 1 loss Texas or A&M vs whichever 2 loss SEC team ranks highest in conference.

I saw some ‘what-if’ highlighting the potential that something like 8 teams in the SEC could have two losses. It’s not hard to argue all are better than OSU, which creates the transitive property issue of putting two loss teams ahead of one loss teams.

GD is right about Penn St. That progrum has no business competing seriously for a championship. ND goes into a different category; results aside, they’re box office. Committee has to take that into consideration in a way that’ll undersell how badly they lost to Northern.

Why is Miami ranked 4th when they don’t lead their conference? SMU is currently ranked 1st in the conference.

Thanks

Plus they covered up a JORR-sized pedophile for decades. Dismantle the program.

It's a shame this Indiana-OSU football game isn't very interesting because of the 12 team playoff. Right One Post?

Guys, I never seen an over/under so huge in my life, I don't think.

North texas Mean green vs UTSA Roadrunners - O/U is 73.5

Wow!!

What do u guys think? You think this is an under, or does Vegas know whats up?

U look at North texas's schedule, their games are in the 80s and 90s, it's ridiculous. And then somehow they lost at home to Army last week, only 14-3.

What would u guys bet on this??

I get that Camp Randall is a long trip and a hostile atmosphere but Oregon did not like number one worthy. Or it could just be that Wisconsin is really a top twenty team trapped in the body of an unranked team because their quarterback play is so dreadful.

Wisconsin has quarterback and offensive issues but the defense has plenty of players. Phil Longo probably needs to sharpen up the resume.
