Look for a lot of quick hit slants and RB dumps.

I guess what I would do as a coordinator is look at successful offensive teams and maybe run the plays theyre running ? Didnt seem Waldron did that .

The OC from the 2023 Carolina Panthers is an improvement? They finished last in total yards, passing yards, & scoring. Well, he did show a great ability to advance a rookie QB…so there’s that.

That's his actual pedigree?

Yikes if true.

Brown probably isn't very good, but Reich called plays for the Panthers last year until they started 0-6. Brown called them for 3 games (last game was against the Bears) before Reich took playcalling back.

I was bored and looked up what Dowell and Lazor are doing. Dowell is OC of South Carolina and Lazor is Senior Offensive Assistant (sounds fake) for the Texans.

So now, instead of being on his second system next year, Williams will be on his third. Go Bears!

If Caleb Williams isn't consistently fighting for his life during the Thomas Brown OC/play calling era that would have been an improvement.

How is the O/U 41.5 for Bears-Packers? Bears defense keeps teams under 20 and Bears offense is, well, offensive.

Almost a game you could SGP the under + Pack ML + Bears +5.5 and have a shot at +750 or so, like what happened with Lions-Texans Sunday.

there's a dead-coach bounce for teams that fired their HC mid-season. wonder if there's one for teams swapping out OCs. Or at least an improved offense.

Like any promotion or new hire in Chicago pro sports the obligatory references to the glorious possibility of a new era of improved "culture". It's usually short-lived beaten down by failure, and it's mediocrity, or worse. The smooth talking new hires usually turn into Bruce Levines explaining or sidestepping why there's much hope ahead despite the failures under their watch.

Pretty much. This dude isn't going to save the season. It is ironic that the team that traded us the haul to land Caleb was the team that had to turn to this guy halfway thru last season to call plays for the kid they traded that haul to us for.

Thats full circle for ya right there.

To the guy's credit, Williams is getting the pass off a full second earlier than the last few games. That has made a big difference, right?

I was impressed today by this new guy. Seems like he understands how to run an NFL offense in 2024. Guy seems to have a clue and understands developing a rookie qb.

too bad for him when flus is fired at the end of the year he'll be gone too.

needle threaded. Fun, stressful AF but fun when these 3 way ML/spread/under parlays hit like this one and Lions last week. +742 this week, +804 Lions-Texans last week. Right before GB went for the 2 pt conversion had to check to see if I had 41.5 for the under or 40.5. Had under 41.5 and +5.5 for Bears to cover and Packers ML @ +742

But I think it closed at 40.5 for Over/Under; which equals a lot of bettors either cheering or bet-aching on that 2 point conversion outcome.

alt spreads go way beyond -13. Lions alt spread laddered all the way to -35.5 today (+1400) with stops at -27.5 (+500), -19.5 (+186) down to the original -13.5 (-115).

Lions also covered all 4 quarter spreads. -3.5 1st and 3rd. -4.5 2nd and -2.5 4th. Individually the quarter spreads were around even money. All 4 quarters parlayed +1120

which right there a side covering all individual 4 quarter spreads being 50% better payout than threading the o/u, ml + spread needle seems off. It's probably mathematically correct but seems like we should get a bonus +200 to 400 for it hitting.

Brown did a good job on short notice in a high pressure situation against the teams biggest rival.

The player personnel groupings made more sense, subbing Swift in when it was appropriate and subbing him out for Johnson when it was appropriate (for example). Didn't get too 'creative' with his play calls, and stuck to the run and quick pass game to keep GB's defense off balance. He was also much better with tempo and calling plays that were in rhythm with the players and offense overall.

This Bears team can be a frustrating spoiler type team the rest of the way with simple smart play calling and game planning. There's enough talent on this team if its well coached to keep games close and force opponents to have to play near perfect ball to win those games. If they can keep this up, I can see the Bears sneaking in a couple wins in close games against teams they shouldn't beat.

They wont win enough to sniff the playoffs, but they could hurt some opponents who are trying to get in.

Nice hit. I was a missed kick away from hitting bears ML and over 38 at +400
