It's clear from watching this video that Chase Daniel believes that Shane Waldron was the biggest problem on offense.

He highlighted multiple instances where the route concepts were almost nonsensical. JT O'Sullivan has been pointing this out for weeks, as well including personnel packages on screens specifically.

And of course, instead of just up and firing Waldron and having a plan in place to move forward without him, the Bears did the most Bears thing imaginable in trying to be coy about whether he was going to be fired, waiting to announce he was fired, and only announcing he was fired after NFL insiders broke a few other embarrassing stories about the team. Now everyone's dirty laundry is out in public, and a locker room full of coddled, rich athletes will most assuredly handle this like adults.

Courtney Cronin:

The Bears were very proud of their process that led them to Shane Waldron this offseason. Of nine OC candidates they interviewed over a 2 week period, Waldron was the only candidate the Bears interviewed twice.

Eberflus said that Waldron stood out as a candidate "because of his ability to communicate and his ability to make things clear and concise in his presentation and the way he did it. He was clearly the guy that we thought was the best for us."

Yesterday, when asked specifics that he was looking at changing, the first thing Eberflus mentioned was in-game communication.

The biggest problem through 10 weeks is what Eberflus was touting as Waldron's greatest strength in March of this year.

The Bears chose to retain Eberflus after 10 wins in two seasons and have now let him hire two different offensive staffs, which has led him to his third offensive coordinator.

Ok. This organization just can’t get out of its own way.

Did we ever get an official answer to what happened with the DC last year?

They have made the upcoming HC decision somewhat difficult.

An experienced and proven HC would want his own GM, but cannot see George launching Poles.

Poles loves the outside zone scheme, he purposely picks and signs lineman that he thinks fit the scheme, a new HC might just want big and mean bullies across the offensive line which means you have to replace 4 of the five guys you hand picked to start for you this season, and Poles has shown little interest and even less ability to scout, draft, and develop offensive lineman.

They have also picked and signed defensive players to fit what Eberflus wants to do on defense, your D line needs 2-3 starters, you have a massively overpaid guy sucking up cap room at LB, and a secondary full of guys that cannot stay healthy.

When you step back and look at it you see that Poles has done very little with all the resources he lucked into, seems there is just as much a case to fire Poles as there is to fire Eberflus, especially when you consider Poles picked Eberflus and has signed off on two terrible OC hires.

You keep wondering if there is an adult in the room when the coaching decisions are being made, it obviously is not George, you hoped it would be Warren, but that guy sounds like the Kamala Harris of the NFL.

Half way thru last season, pretty much everyone wanted Eburflus launched into the sun. A few wins against mainly bad teams during "garbage time" of the season, and he was retained. Now, the prized rookie QB1 will potentially be on his 2nd head coach and 3rd OC going into camp next summer. Everything the Bears do is messed up.
