Justin never showed the repeatable arm talent that Caleb has displayed outside of throwing pretty hard. Caleb has the arm strength, the touch has shown up enough to know it's not just a fluke, and it's all-world, and he can effortlessly change arm angles and throw off-platform with velocity and accuracy. A lot of those things Fields just straight up doesn't have, and it's why he was benched for moonball-throwing Broncos Country.

Nah Fields could absolutely sling it. His problem was between the ears, no processing. Take him away from his loaded Ohio State receiver corps and it was a trainwreck.

But if the Bears goal was to finish in the basement of the NFC North and pick in the top ten again they could’ve done that with Fields. He would’ve sufficed, you didn’t have to spend first overall to accomplish what the little burrito is “accomplishing”.

He couldn’t throw to the middle of the field and got the yips every time a game was tight. He had all the physical tools - worse arm than Caleb, as most do - but it’s a classic case of having a strength that inhibits your development.

His elite running ability made him like a guy who hit 6’ in 5th grade, dominated basketball in the post against short kids then stopped growing. Running well doesn’t matter in the NFL without the passing skill he never developed because the running helped him win which covered up the lack of processing which didn’t matter cuz he could run…

Caleb’s arm blows. The accuracy is piss poor, the arm strength is severely limited, he does all this bullshit window dressing with weird arm angles and velocity changes and it’s just the same mediocre talent.

But yeah, it’s a pass/fail thing with quarterbacks and Justin Fields was an obvious fail all along. There’s a reason he went after Zach Wilson and Trey Lance despite being obviously more talented. He was just so clearly fatally flawed that he wasn’t worth the risk to the MANY quarterback needy teams in that draft.

People do a real disservice to kids as talented as Fields was coming up through high school and college. He should’ve switched positions, he would’ve been a great receiver. Too late now.

His play was worse than his numbers. It underestimated how bad of a quarterback he was. But the raw talent was obvious.

His raw talent was running. He couldn't throw. We celebrated him getting 200 yards. Williams is showing how it's setting even when you play just good you can do.

Uh, hello. Caleb Williams put up the league worst point total of the season against a shitty New England team. He’s literally the worst in the league, he has now fallen behind the likes of Bryce Young.

Justin Fields physically throwing the ball was pretty good. If you put him in shorts and gave him one read, and that read was open, he could hit his man reliably. Beyond that he was hopeless.
