This is just the dumb logic of a Sox fan, explains why someone would be a fan of that organization that continually shits on its supporters/fans with no consequences.

Killing some players on the Brewers won’t make the Cubs better.

The Cubs have always operated under the philosophy that they don't have to get better, the rest of the division just needs to get a little worse. Sorry to hold the mirror up for you.

Right, if the Brewers get worse the Cubs don't get better, the Cubs just have a better chance of winning the division because the competition is less challenging, that is not what you said at all in your post.

Sorry the Sox suck so bad, seems to have rotted your brain.

Somehow they only had to give $5M to the Yankees? I thought Bellinger was due like $25-$30M next season and everyone knew the Cubs were desperate to move him, meaning they would have to eat a lot more of that contract regardless of how money the Yankees have.

I guess they convinced the Yankees that they are taking on a 1 year deal (i guess $2.5M goes for this season and the other half for club option...) so he would be less costly than giving a multi-year deal to someone else, but good job by the Cubs.

Kyle Tucker makes $16.7 and Bellinger about $10M more....so would put them around 194M right now (projected).

And Tucker will maybe be a Cub for 1 year, hahaha

Assuming he plays well and stays healthy, I think the Cubs would be the favorite to sign him long-term, but NY/LA could step in and overpay. There will be a lot of pressure to keep him here though so if this deal stays in the $300m range, and not the $600m range, I would make the Cubs the favorites to keep him around.

looking forward to bruce levine's extensive scouting report on poteet. i would imagine the club now has the desired financial flexibility because albatross bellinger is gone. is bruce predicting luzardo? castillo?

can't wait for saturday morning's show.

He’s getting way more than 300M, his numbers are right with Soto’s.

Doesn't look like I'll regret another year without being able to watch the Cubs legally.

With some injuries though and will be 28 (vs. 26) when he hits free agency (I think). Obviously a great player when healthy though.

Not his age, though. He's more in line with Judge's 9/360. So call it 10/420, with some of year 9&10 money deferred if he has too many IL stints in years 6-8.

2 years makes 365M in difference?

Rickett's are doing just enough to sell some jerseys and create some interest at Wrigley.

Wrigley has become a theme park disguised as a ballpark. Tucker is your new fancy ride for the season, while they shipped out the old new fancy ride to NY.

Some inflation in there. $2M more AAV and an extra year.

Tucker was acquired as a one year deal. The Cubs recognize where baseball is headed for 2026.

Look at this guy, wheeling and dealing while holding court at Submarine Tender.

Agreed, I don't think he's getting Soto money. Cubs will be the favorites here.

Trade a bunch of assets for Kyle Tucker and maybe/kinda have some thoughts about resigning him after the year and the first things the Cubs do it take him to arbitration?

Just fucking stupid.

They didn't take him to arbitration. They reached a deal before the convention, and gave him $500k over the midpoint as a concession.
