I believe Laurence has taken complete control now that he has been given the afternoon show after threatening Mitch that he better put a black in that position after Goff, the dumbass, made another career suicide decision by turning Mitch down. Hallelujah that Goff is so stupid. I’m positive that Larry had it all planned out once Parkins left that he and Goff would take over afternoons as the Holmes and Goff show and Spiegs would either be fired on move to middays. But Goff fucked that up by being a stupid bitch. Now Larry is even more disgusting as he thinks he is the king of all sports media and Spiegs has seemingly just given up.

I admittedly don't listen much, other than occasionally from 5:30 to 6. This is usually when the show got goofy/funny, with Shane and Tanny chiming in, and Parkins and Spiegel getting their balls busted. With Larry onboard, he absolutely doesn't get the "mob" sense of humor, and this last segment is very cringe these days. He's such a bad fit, I can't believe the other 3 have stayed this long. Once one of the dominoes falls, I'll bet the 2 will follow. It's hilarious when Larry tries to make a profound point, while the other 3 cracks jokes, and Larry keeps getting his point sidetracked, he keeps repeating the point he's trying to make. He'll always be an outsider to these 3.

<Dicaro'd> I just can't </DiCaro'd> with Laurence and so I don't listen to the afternoon show but do believe this is happening

I do hear him in transition and he regularly ruins that too. He's among 4 and sometimes 5 (on a vestigial Leila day) people, but talks like it's "House of L" where his point is last and slowest. Even when it's just dudes-talking topics he can't help but put extra authority on his takes. I think he is doing what Speigel used to, gear up all day for validation from Bernstein. The transition segments are like 30 minutes whereas Mully and Haugh give middays like 5 extra minutes of their time.

Hard Knocks really exposed the Bears as being an inept and timid organization that is way more concerned with appearances than winning football games.

There is no way they can bring in a red ass guy who will hold people accountable.

It was interesting to hear the interim guy talk about respecting the players and making meetings shorter and more precise in order to respect the time of the players. You could see Caleb rolling his eyes when Eberflus, Warren, or Poles tried to give him on of their leadership pep talks.

Quite embarrassing to watch Eberflus try to talk to Caleb about QB play, and you could see nobody listening when Waldron tried to pipe up, seems any and all footage of any interactions between the offensive coaching staff and the offensive line was edited out by the Bears.

The way Hard Knocks was edited makes perfect sense now, they knew there was a massive amount of ineptitude in the coaching staff yet they let Poles double and triple down on bad coaching hires.

The organization needs an ass kicking head coach that will change the soft culture at Halas Hall, but there is no way the current collection of DEI hires will be able to tolerate that level of accountability, and the required work ethic needed to steer the ship away from the icebergs.

Laurence doesn't understand the difference between radio and podcasting if he thinks Goff is a radio host (let alone a good one)

I wonder if Laurence, as a true believer in WSCR, actually did turn down a job when The Ringer created their Chicago podcast and hired Goff (who did not have a radio gig). Not only did Laurence have a podcast already, but as a solo host on radio he could do more of a podcast format there too.

In the time since, he's been paired with people yet still trying to do The Laurence Holmes Show (while still doing the podcast too)

I don't know if there's a good way to get podcast metrics, and Goff's is on a Spotify-owned channel so that likely influences numbers there. Also Goff started in 2021 and Laurence had his since 2018

using agnostic castbox.fm

House of L
Subs: 326 Played: 21,323

The Full Go
Subs: 199 Played: 20,333

Apple ratings
House of L: 4.9 stars, 1.4k reviews
The Full Go: 4.8 stars, 332 reviews

Goff turned down the Score because he wanted to keep a podcast that gets those woefully low numbers?

If this is accurate, would this be attributed to Holmes having a much larger presence (obviously still small) than Goff in Chicago and that the Goff podcast on Ringer is pre-dominantly a Chicago audience (which is probably expected despite his NBA "insights")

What do sub mean? There are 326 people who subscribe for Holmes most recent podcast? Would this be any/all platforms that subscribe for podcasts?

This is pretty bizarre even for Larry Holmes. He says even though he doesn't play anymore he still pretend fantasy world practices backhanding grounders, maneuvering his feet touching second base, and he's a quarterback taking snaps from center.

Really awkward Larry & crooner John Vincent talking about kissing each other when they greeted each other Friday.

Larry said, "John and I aren't shy about showing our affection for each other.'

At what point does one start making money from a podcast? Have read that YouTube pays out once a subscriber threshold is met.

Still seems the OnlyFans people are the only ones making money, maybe Larry Holmes sees a future in an OnlyFans account featuring him kissing random guys or where gay dudes can pay him to kiss them?

I miss the days when the downtime during the holidays had more of the part-time talent take on the shows rather than bringing in friends of hosts. I’m looking at you LoHo. Jason Lieser has got to be one of the most boring listens and has the most monotone radio voice I’ve heard in a long time.

There is a chance Tannehill is the person who best performs his job at the entire station. He should be given more time to produce creative content.

I don't think there is a chance, I think it is no doubt 100% true
