If you went twice as far it would.

That's why I was using averages though. You called my a sycophant then.

LeBron has played about 50% more games than Jordan and he has about 100% more rebounds and assists. Are you arguing with that fact?

But why not just use averages? He gets about 1 rpg more. He gets about 2 assists a game more. That's much easier to visualize than 5,000 more rebounds in 500 more games.

Doesn't LeBron get credit for longevity?

No one else in sports does.

Is Karl Malone also better than Jordan? More points and rebounds than Jordan too. Even assists isn't that far away.

Now let's go back to the averages.

You can't really win this on the numbers. All you can do is keep insisting Jordan is better because he was your boyhood idol or take the Tall Midget tact and scream about SIX NBA CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Either can Lebron then. If all that matters is points rebounds and assists, then Jokic is unequivocally better than LeBron, there's no counterargument.

The game is about a bucket. Jordan was a better scorer and defender than Lebron. That's why he was better and won more.

The averages are about equal especially since Jordan was a better defender but it's harder to quantify with traditional stats. Rebounding by guards just wasn't as important back then. Lebron's stats aren't that much different than Russel Westbrook for instance outside of points per game.

Jordan was a better scorer and defender. Lebron was a better passer and played a lot longer.

But, I mean, SIX NBA CHAMPIONSHIPS are a pretty good argument too, especially in the average per year category.

End of discussion. And not just 6, but 6 with no losses.

Jordan sycophants are hilarious. They simply declare him a "better defender" and everyone is supposed to just accept that because he's MICHAEL JORDAN (and I used to have his poster on my wall).

LeBron can defend all five positions. Jordan certainly couldn't handle a big man and he often got pantsed by quick little point guards. His defensive reputation was made by he and Scottie playing the passing lanes and grabbing steals.

Lebron can't defend 5 positions. He could guard Derrick Rose and then his own position. He's rarely been even put on the opponents best player in the playoffs and certainly has never shut any of them down besides Rose.

Jordan took the cover. LeBron James has been in the witness protection program on defense for at least the past 15 years or so.
He stopped guarding a long time ago. He'd camouflage it with the occasional chase down block here or there and that's about it. He usually guards the least offensive player on each and every team on most nights and has for at least the past 15 years

Stop this nonsense. Lebron has not been a good defender in years and he could never defend all 5 positions.

He only really guarded Rose for a couple of possessions in that series.

He could and did guard the 5 in the series against OKC because Kendrick Perkins was the opposing center

So now we're going to compare LeBron at age 40 to the prime Jordan that you had on a poster on your wall rather than look at their entire body of work.

Of course LeBron could defend all five positions. And he did.

We have a Lebron sycophant that thinks he could guard Tim Duncan and Dirk and Durant but just never did.

Lebron was a good defender in his first few years, but he stopped caring on defense LONG before 40.

Just look at the NBA finals they both appeared in. Jordan was a top defender on all 6 of those teams. Lebron was not even close to a top defender during his Finals appearances.

He caused Rose problems at the end of games during those series. But for most of the game he would hide out. LTG is right in that.

This is a funny thing Lebron fans like to say that has never been true at any point of his career. I'm also guessing I can count on one hand the number of Lebron games you have watched in the last 10 years.

Occasionally he did.

But let's be clear. I'm not a fan of LeBron. I don't really care one way or another. It's just so obvious that Jordan is the childhood hero of you and many others that frequent this board and that prevents you from any fair and honest evaluation.

It's okay to have heroes. I don't hold it against you. I know you like Kyle Orton too.

Just not Dirk to win the series against Dallas. That would have been a perfect opportunity for him to demonstrate defensive prowess don't you think?

if Lebron was capable of guarding Dirk than maybe the 2011 Finals go a different way. But the Heat had nobody that could slow him down, meanwhile Shawn Marion completely locked up Lebron. I don't recall Jordan getting locked up in an NBA Finals series.

They also let J.J. Barea take the LeBron cover and never bothered to send help!

 JORR never even watched that series. He just likes to throw out names and dream it into existence! I bet Lebron guarded Magic and Bird too.

It's not Lebron's fault, he was 40 during the 2011 Finals

Bernstein and Goff used to heavily push that narrative back then too. I bet he heard it there
