Justin Fields had a 12 game losing streak as a starter when you were saying the Bears should build around him and accept moral victories instead of wins and offensive production.

Bears are like 32-2 in moral victories the last two years (the Washington and Detroit games were sad).

I don't have the time nor interest to explain to this dope how the concept of "tanking" actually works. Thus I won't bother trying to explain it again.

I will just say when this thread was created this idi#t said this

Stop using "tanking" as an excuse for Field's sucking. You can't seriously say Caleb is on a ready to win team with no online or dline. Allen sucks, Kmet sucks, Switft Sucks, D.J. Moore is not interested and Odumbza looks like a bad draft pick. This team is not ready to win.

Justin Fields closed out the 2022 season with 8 straight losses as a starter then proceeded to lose the 4 straight games to start the 2023 season.

Jaylon Johnson said the Bears were tanking in 22. They are not now.

Caleb Williams sucks. That's the main. reason that the Bears suck currently. No matter what you say.

Why are they 3 games worse than last season?

Bears now 1-10 since this thread was created. Caleb Williams further cemented his bumslaying status yesterday by once again throwing for under 150 yards on nearly 30 attempts to close out the season.

The Bears did have a much more difficult schedule this year. Last year's opponents were a combined 134-155. The Bears faced eight winning teams, four with 10 or more victories.

This year the Bears opponents were 160-129, faced 10 winning teams and all with 10 or more victories.

The Bears faced nine common opponents this year and last, the three division teams, and Washington, Arizona and Carolina. All had better records this season. If you don't want to include the Carolina game because the Panthers had Andy Dalton start at QB this year I can understand that, but the Bears beat the Panthers last season with Bagent at QB.

objectively, Caleb had an acceptable season for a rookie qb, probably more than acceptable. He didn't do as well as some drafted behind him and there are obvious areas of need for improvement.

5th best season in bears history for yards in a season. Only Cutler and Kramer ahead of him. I know I know....empty stats blah blah.

I wouldn't say it's empty, but a lot depends on how much importance you put on starting every game. Otherwise he isn't even top 20 in yards per game at 208. That's behind other Bears greats like Brian Hoyer, Matt Barkley (230 YPG  ), and Josh McGowan. Heck, Sid Luckman threw for more YPG 70 years ago.

Entertainingly Brian Griese is the single season YPG leader at 258, although in only 7 games. Cutler hit 254 in 15 games.

yeah no doubt there are issues and concerns.

But I think if you say at the start of the season that he has 3500 yds 20 TDs and 6 Ints it would be considered an acceptable rookie season.

Now this is how you crunch the numbers. MANY are accusing "activity with accomplishment.

This kid took nearly 100% of the snaps and threw over 560 passes.

I'm fairly certain he is in the top 3 (or possibly first) in that particular category as well.

And I'm also certain that this year's Bears team had one of the lowest point output per game of any Bears team of the past 40 years. And very few of those teams would ever be considered juggernauts

Time to move on Dr. Style. He showed a lot of potential this year. He was also horrendous at times. I think the odds are that the horrendous performances disappear a lot easier than the good to great performances.

It was the best rookie year by a Bears QB we've ever seen, and it's really not even close. He has to be better than this year to be the long term guy but just be optimistic that the Bears have a QB with a higher potential than we've ever seen.

The mere fact that you have to beg me to "move on" after making silly statements such as "he can throw" validates everything that I happened to be stating.

Keep in mind that I did keep "Receipts" McCarver. Which is the primary reasons that guys like you have to implore me to move on.

And the "Best Bears Rookie Season" ever just screams Tallest Midget Award.

You need much more than just that in order to make the sale.

I poo poo Bears history. It's a whole new world in the NFL. How do I know? 5 rookies had 'acceptable' seasons. Or did they? I don't know but Bears history is a terrible way to evaluate, IMO.

Fine, don't "move on".

I don't care. I have receipts on you complaining about Williams not throwing touchdowns. You just changed the rules to wins after that when Williams was putting up good touchdown numbers.

But, since you love receipts, once the draft is done I'll be more than happy to let you set over/unders on Caleb Williams play next year and I'll choose what I think he'll get. We'll see who was more correct then with real receipts.

How MANY Bears QBs actually were allowed to pass the Ball over 500 times in a Season?

The most passes that Erik "Just Another Game" Kramer ever threw for the Bears was 522. 40 passes fewer than Caleb Williams with over 300 more passing yards.

Which was Kramer's best Season and he still was considered to be nothing more than a mediocre QB at best.

I kept receipts. And I really don't think you want to make his touchdown numbers the essential point for your argument either. If so fire away. Because his TD numbers aren't all that impressive as I have illustrated countless times on here.

Again, no one cares about your receipts. The search function mostly works for everyone.

You constantly complained about his lack of touchdowns. He started throwing touchdowns. You switched it to wins.

Your constantly evolving inconsistent arguments aren't something that helps you.

That's why it's simple. I will provide you the chance after the draft to set the over/under on ANY Williams statistic next year. It will be your choice to accept it. No real reason to keep rehashing last season where most touchdowns don't count.

Hey dude. I still talk about his lack of touchdowns. It was just last week that he failed to throw a touchdown.

He ONLY has 20 on the season. In 562 passes and you're prepared the throw him a parade.

Justin Fields produced at least 20 in 2 of three seasons he was the Bears QB. In fewer games, pass attempts, and with worse receivers

And even during his oft discussed rookie campaign he produced the same amount of touchdowns as "Generational QB" in the same amount of games.

Again if you want to talk TDs then let's talk TDs. Stats not spin and vague B.S. about what your "interpretation" of what the situation happens to be. It's boring, redundant, and repetitive. And again I kept receipts

I mean he didn’t throw a touchdown for well over a month it was kinda sad.

Yes, he turned around and score when down a billion points in a few games after that. It was very great, everyone clapped.

Nah guy. You're obviously afraid to talk "touchdows" whenever I provide "receipts"

He'll end up second or first when Daniels gets the inevitable injury and can't run like he does now.
