That's the dream scenario. You gotta have the nuts to tell Poles to pack his shit if Johnson demands it.

I’ll continue to point out that Johnson is said to have coveted this job last year when Poles was fully entrenched. If Poles is willing to give Ben a seat at the personnel table and they hit it off overall there’s a good chance he’ll wind up here.

One of the Bears criteria is that they’d like to hear the plan for developing their young QB. Hard to imagine any of the names mentioned so far would be able to hit that conversation further out of the park than Ben Johnson.

He's had a season to reassess Poles' prowess. Can't live off one trade forever.

I think you do whatever you have to do to get Johnson.

If he goes else where then it is a bunch of meh.

Gotta assume Vrabel is going to NE.

at that point I dont know, maybe roll the dice with Flores and see what he can do with his 2nd time. I really dont want a defensive guy, but at least it is a defensive guy that runs an aggressive system.

A coach coming in here making those kinds of demands is just as disqualifying as usual foul language in McCaskeyland.

Not getting all the love for Ryan Poles, his roster finished with the same number of wins as the Carolina Panthers, and was playing worse than the Panthers at the end of the year.

He paid a ton of money for a D that finished near the bottom of the league. That Edmunds contract looks worse every week, a guy off the Packers practice squad came in and outplayed his draft picks, dude can't draft front seven guys to save his life.

He built the worst offense in the NFL. Cap is highly skewed toward the WR position, goes cheap on the o line, especially at OT, dude can't draft...well anything on offense to save his life.

What is the rationale for keeping him?

Who is giving Poles love here? I think the majority of us want him gone, but it does not seem like that is happening.

George needs to be pulled out of his house and given the Gaddafi treatment if this oaf is hired.

Maybe the Packers should fire LeFleur, talk Rodgers into coming back and hire McCarthy

Ya know, get the band back together!

Lafleur's one of the best coaches in the league. Black Monday is for the loser teams like the Bears not the playoff teams.

Let’s not get ahead ourselves here -your teams season is only going to be a week longer than the team I cheer for.

LaFleur is what probably 7th or 8th best in the league currently?

He's really good, he's made Love and Willis look not awful, I think maybe 1 or 2 other guys could've done that.

Now that Belichick and Carroll have left the league of the five best coaches in the league I think three might be in the NFC North and LeFleur might be the best of the three. I know Dan Campbell and KoC are hot shit right now but LeFleur dragged a not great Packers team through a hellish division to the playoffs.

And just for the record if you want to say Sean Payton, Jim/John Harbaugh, Mike Tomlin or Kyle Shanahan are just as good as anyone in the NFC North I won’t argue that. But I am saying the only two coaches in the league who are inarguably better than anyone in the NFCN are Andy Reid and Sean McVay.

The Bears are just fucked. There really is no hope. And all these guys elsewhere are young, seem to be very happy with their situation and have good front offices to work with.

What’s foreseeable future in the NFL? Realistically not more than one season or maybe two. But I just don’t see a path the Bears finishing with over six-ish wins for the next five years. It’s just over guys. The Bears are simply not in a position to compete with this.

Poles, "What's your plan for developing our young QB."

Johnson, " Well, you might want to start with a real Center and a LT who isn't going to get the kid sacked 68 times."

Poles, "hmm, I never thought of that. You're hired!"

Do you even pay attention to the games or just come up with random diarrhea of the mouth? Packers went 1-5 in the Division

Yes and they made the playoffs despite that. Are you disagreeing that they made the playoffs?

And beat no one. They made it to the playoffs by bumslaying bad teams. He didn't grit and grind his way through the division. Almost went 0-6
