Man hearing Marshall Harris talking about all this hope is dumb. Pinnacle out of town stupid. The guy is like a clueless tourist.

Dan knows how this ends, its hard to listen to really but Dan has his finger on the pulse in a way this outsider never can.

I don't mind Marshall, but he feels very out of place at the Score because he's just a normal likable guy. He's lacking the inner torment and unearned narcissism that have historically defined Score hosts.

I agree with this. He seems like a normal dude, and doesn't come up with the smugness. He doesn't remind the audience how informed they are or talk down to the audience....

I'm not impressed with his opinions/knowledge on the Bears either, but he doesn't bother me because he doesn't act like a jerk.

Was in the car and decided to punch the 670 button, heard the new dude contradicting Bernstein on all of his statements, quite funny to hear because guys like Lil' Danny are not used to people disagreeing with him, and when the new guy said, "let's ask a few people what they think", Bernstein quickly pivoted and backpedaled, really pointed out how unprepared the SJW types are for open discussion of an issue.

Little Danny went with a completely wrong take on avocados, "good luck getting avocados when Trump deports everyone", but that is false, Mexico produces almost 2.6 million tons of avocados as opposed to 142,000 in the US, Haiti produces more avocados than the US, the US imports 80% of its avocados from Mexico. Found it interesting that the new dude just ignored it rather than doing a five minute diatribe agreeing with Bernstein like Larry, Goff, or McKnight would have done.

Guys like Bernstein and Larry are dinosaurs, the SJW framework that has crippled the station is more outdated by the day.

“Good luck getting avocados” has to be one of the dumber ways I’ve heard somebody admonish Trump voters.

That's where the SJW game gets tough, you would have to say it like this, "the evil white colonists will have to mow their own lawns now", or "good luck finding hapless white dudes to mow your grass".

If Dan was only a man of the people and talked to someone, anyone outside of his very small inner circle he would learn that the restaurant industry could lose most of the prep staff and cooks, you kind of see that industry is adjusting already to the expected impact.

Sadly, our guy Dan is operating out of a dated playbook and is totally misinformed on nearly every issue, so we get a young dude running circles around the leader of the already dead "smart fans station".

he's just angry. been angry all his life. he is most happiest when making fun of white gentiles and their customs, cultures, history and religions. the chuckles and sincere laughter after mocking a defrocked priest are inspiring.

i don't think he cares one bit about avocados nor the people that pick them. imagine his silent contempt for those who come here to pick avocados. i remember him getting semi-emotional when talking about some of his recent ancestors and their journeys/travails from (if i remember correctly) russia (belarus) and poland. emotional and angry.

My Great Grandparents had also fled Russia and Poland, but instead of hating the US they told their kids how lucky they were to be free, interesting how Bernstein's kin folk came here and have been able to live incredibly lucrative lives, yet still are angry.

Do have hope that the new dude will continue to try to bring common sense back to the "smart fans station", as everyone knows that the "smart fans station" is actually the place where likeminded idiots congregate.

I’ve been listening for the first time in many years since I live under the WSCR AM signal’s range (though just barely). It’s a husk. It just feels hollowed out and dead. There’s really no more Scoreboard Updates and nobody seems to really call in or text them anymore. Maybe they’ve just decided to stop letting listeners thoughts on air Idk, but it certainly makes the station feel like a zombie.

It’s just rehashed Bears talk too. I get it, what are you supposed to say about the other franchise they are all not worth talking about either, but there’s really no life to it. Sad!

As for the “what will we do without immigrants who burn grannies alive on the subway” well yeah there’s some truth to it. Not really in agriculture but certainly in food (particularly meat) processing. But its not like letting in tens of millions of the worst people on earth did much to control costs on that stuff to begin with.

I was taught in I think sophomore year of high school that the cost of a good is determined by supply and demand. Not how much it costs to make. A seller will charge as much as a buyer is willing to buy it for. Having a bunch of illiterate ex-cons from Honduras chop up chicken for $2 an hour (they see it as a cost of admission to have proximity to white undergrads they can rape & murder) doesn’t affect the price you pay one iota.

But yeah Americans don’t want to do those jobs for that rate. There will be a profits crunch that will affect the markets. It’ll lead to a recession probably. Of course there is a price to kicking this trash out, but would you rather Tyson make record profits or America turn more and more into a Managua slum? Obvious answer.

I've been listening more since the slow-motion train wreck started 10 weeks ago and I agree. There's a new interview out with Mitch Rosen and he talks about how the video-streaming component of the station has grown. What he doesn't mention (it's really a pretty crappy piece, all told; interviewing Mitch is generally like interviewing an enthusiastic dumb dog) is that it's fundamentally changed the nature of the show. I've talked about how it's become podcasts that happen to be live on the radio. It's actually something worse: it's FS1 slop that also happens to be live on the radio. Remember all the times Boers & Bernstein went completely off the rails just going retarded with drops? That's bad TV, you can't expect people to watch Dan gleefully mash a soundboard. I'm surprised they don't have a topic rundown on the screen.

The current WSCR product is for a very narrow target audience, seems they are doing a podcast just for the friends and family of Mitch and Dan, makes for a rather tedious listen.

The shows were more entertaining and frankly more energetic when they took calls, especially when they used the regular callers to give a different perspective, that fell off the rails when the ceded control to Bernstein, he was so timid that only used stuff that was obviously sent in by either himself of his friends for the "Who you crappin" segment, taking the segment from an entertaining few minutes to yet another echo chamber validation of his views.

You wonder what exactly the "smart fans station" is afraid of, if they are the smartest people in the room why are they so afraid of talking with people that might have a different take on an issue? The truth is that they are the dumbest people in the room, a goof like North had more ability to defend his sports takes than Lil' Danny Bernstein.

The station has devolved from sports talk radio into a friends and family podcast with the hosts shamelessly promoting their own even more narrowly niched podcasts. It has become unlistenable for a majority of the day.

You wonder how they sell this to advertisers, if you are putting out a product that only appeals to a minute portion of the listening audience you would have a hard time differentiating yourself from all the other podcasts people are doing from the basement at grandmas house.

It’s demos. Only matters that they do play with white males and/or gamblers, people with home repair problems or low T.

Radio guys used to understand that it was theater of the mind, a medium completely different than television. It allowed for a lot of creativity, if you were creative. It also required talented producers.
The current world has mashed radio and video together, because being on every platform is the only way to get noticed by enough to be an entertainment sensation...but that is reducing the quality of radio creativity with bits and characters.

"The Meatball Machine" is a really overhyped bit. It's just a rebranded version of the Whiner Line from WEEI, which Senor just obliquely acknowledged.

and Marshall's biggest takeaway is that Poles is in charge, that's the exact opposite reading anyone listening would've taken. back to sun belt regional ABC affiliate Marshall, you're way out of your depth.

Marshall, with his anodyne, out-of-town "sports: gotta say, I'm in favor of them" approach, doesn't seem to be the man for the moment with the Bears spiraling out of control. However, Bernstein is putting up his best ratings in years with him, so apparently we're wrong. I didn't think Danny Parkins could make a television career out of "here's my hot take: I like my favorite football team's quarterback," but I got that wrong, too.

There are two options for sports radio in Chicago and I hate them both, but to borrow a good line, I'll keep drinking that garbage. It just sucks and it doesn't have to be this way. Putting an out of town rube on to sound clueless about the recent history of the Bears seems like a bad choice Mitch.

Parkins is a nepotism hire and if you know anyone in real life that watches his show that's one more than me.

yes, but it's actually entertaining and correct and what Marshall interjects with are ignorant "corrections" that aren't even right. It's like having the out of town stupid guy in the room with you. The Score isn't supposed to be that.
