Damn, Ben Johnson's stock is really tanking if Vice-President XBox doesn't want him!

If the Jets categorically don't want him, then I definitely want him.

For example, the Jets categorically wanted the 17th best QB in the league two years ago. They categorically thought they were a Super Bowl contender after said QB, 40 years old, blew out his achilles.

The NFL is so weird, man. Sean McVay was the hottest coaching candidate after getting one really good year out of Kirk Cousins. Ben Johnson takes Jared Goff and turns him into a Top 10, and an actually arguable Top 5, QB for 3 consecutive years and there's actually at least one team going "thanks, but no thanks"?

If the Pats quickly hire Vrabel and the Jags getting taken out of consideration because Baalke is a backstabber, then the Bears are really the only show in town for him.

He could easily just go back to Detroit another year.

I just don't think Johnson ends up here. He can just wait until after next season for the next round of openings if he wants to.
Still think it's Flores but price is a little short, will wait to see if I can find a better price and going to make a bet on Weaver because it is that stupid.

If you believe what has been said in the press conferences, in Jacksonville the coach has a direct line to the owner, not that way with the Bears.

Morons of the Midway should be the new Bears slogan.

Poles said he ultimately will make the decision and handle interviews of coaching candidates this month.

Kevin Warren, "I think we made it clear, I made it clear in early December and as Ryan talked about today, he is our point person on the search. He's our general manager. He's head of football operations," said Warren. "I am confident that if we do our job from a process standpoint, which we will, and sit down and be open and honest that people will look at this as a great opportunity and from a hypothetical standpoint, I am confident with the group that we have right now and Ryan leading our charge."

The fuck does this even mean?

Hypothetically the Bears could be in the playoffs, Hypothetically ground could be broken in Arlington Heights, Hypothetically Poles could be fired and a new GM/Coach should be aligned.

:? :(

After listening to that presser I’m almost 100% convinced that Johnson and Vrable are out.

So now the Bears will have to get lucky. Like they hire Anthony Weaver and he turns out to be a brilliant HC lucky.

I’ll say it again, unfortunately someone has to die for this shit to change. That’s the sad truth.

Since it seems like the Raiders listened to Brady and launched Pierce it seems obvious that Vrabel ends up in Vegas or NE.

Is Poles now the leader of a HC task force or sub committee that will report to Warren and his higher level task force or sub committee? How is he going to lead this committee if its not off the table that the person selected could have him launched? The Jax owner seemed to say some weird shit too about launching the GM if that was in the coach's vision. I can't believe 1 organization operates like this let alone 2. This is some weird GM cuck stuff going on. We are going to fire you, but we will let you pick the person that will instigate your firing and then let you watch him discuss firing you.....but maybe we won't fire you...or maybe we will.

Could you imagine a guy like Harbaugh sitting through an interview with the harem to talk about the interplay between football and business in McCaskeyLand?

"Don't be too bad or else we'll have to fire you because otherwise we're not very rich." Imagine putting a HC candidate through a vertical integration seminar.

I understand the Ben Johnson love. The last time the Bears hired the hottest coordinator was when they hired Wanny.

“This list is a who’s who of who’s he?” is a very good line.

Lost in the Monorail Man comments is the absolute fact that Lyle Lanley was a great salesman while I’m still convinced that Warren has a Koresh thing going with Ginny.

Bullshit like "a year is a lifetime" and saying "standpoint" over and over is probably what got him hired in the first place.

The pressers today were disastrous, not confident the three dudes in charge of the Bears could run a lemonade stand.

Noticed they had a guy that was carefully trying to give all the long time "Bears Experts" a question, even whispering to the hapless WSCR Bears dude, it still was a train wreck.

Poles bitched about the lack of leadership, he signed or drafted all the guys on the roster, he has built a culture where the players are not held accountable, yet he is not being held accountable for anything.

Warren speaks in outdated HR concepts, laughed when he actually used the term "above the line", remember that terminology being used by our HR department ten years ago. He also has apparently had to read a bunch of books on leadership and has attended a bunch of Zig Ziglar events, sounds like an HR manual rather than a guy with real leadership skills.

That gets us to the sad and pathetic George, it would be hard to find a more clueless guy, he just does not get it and never will. Did enjoy that questions about if he had learned anything from his consistent failures, he seemed puzzled by that question, but he seems puzzled by almost everything.

We will see this same thing again next year, wins and losses do not matter to the McKaskey family,

I rewatched the harem answers and when he initially stated that a blob of HR talent will have a say, Poles noted that these faceless people have “all gone through the league training on inclusivity and sound hiring practices,” which, just fuck.

What the fuck are we doing here?

And also on rewatch, he’s a shifty fucked. For a fat guy, he’s moving side to side like he has to piss himself anytime he speaks. As far as I’ve seen he has two press conferences modes: 1) disqualifying sobbing and 2) piss boy.

Appears the Bears are already being used as leverage by the agents for coaches.

Did find that George and Warren both had an incredibly arrogant take on the value of the Bears job, they seem to think any coach would gladly take whatever they offered. That response is a tell as to why they fail so often when hiring coaches, experienced coaches likely get in the building and laugh at the conditions that George lays out, leaving only the first-time guys that are desperate for jobs as the only realistic options.

They had to fire too many people who were jerking it at work so they probably got forced into mandatory HR trainings and have to bring them on interviews.

Dumbass. He can get fired after the draft. SOP that gms contracts usually last through the draft.
