As great as Jackucionis has been, his turnovers are a REAL problem and really cost them big-time saturday. He is a young player so obviously these are the kinds of things that go along with that, but the last turnover on the inbounds pass really may have cost them the game. The back-to-back 4-point plays he converted, yeah he can keep doing that. My son was at the game, and he said the moment when Humrichous slammed in that put-back was the loudest and wildest he has ever seen the arena in the 4 years he has been going to games, and the moment when the winning basket went in for Tennessee was the quietest and most painful moment.

Tough loss BUT a quality loss, they proved they can play with the big boys. They are just so young and inexperienced and by the time they start getting that experience, KJ will be in the NBA.

HUGE matchup tonight against #9 Oregon on the road. Should be interesting to see how they play after steamrolling Chicago State 117-64.

Looking forward to the game tonight. It's on FS1, so don't need some damn streaming service.

Underwood should bench the rapist, on account of all the raping.

Not a good week for Oregon revenue sports.

That was a serious takedown of a good experienced team on the road. They aren’t always going to shoot that well but it gives you a glimpse of how good this team can be even if they shoot just a little bit better from 3 than they have to start the season. Jackucionis is a star, I can’t believe underwood got him to come to Illinois.

Wasn’t able to tune in but yeah these guys are tough when shooting lights out. Nice win for the resume, hopefully they can keep it going.

I totally spaced out that the game was on. When I remembered they were up 30! Nice win.

It's the 9pm start time. Guess we have to get used to it playing on the west coast sometimes now.

Vibes of when the 2005 team that was relatively unknown early in the year blew out #1 Wake Forest by 30.

This is quite the opposite of the Oregon game - 3’s not dropping today so they had to win ugly. It’s a good sign that even on a poor shooting day they can find a way to win. It’s a really bad sign that they continue to turn the ball over so frequently. Good road trip, glad to be coming home.

They tried to piss it away. Why in the hell do they struggle so much inbounding the ball? Underwood should look at YouTube videos to draw up a decent inbound play.

Nice to get that road trip finished with two wins. 47% FG percentage not bad considering they were only 19% behind the arc. Illini do a hell of a job on the boards beating them 43-30. I’m really hoping Morez Johnson Jr develops as the season goes on. He’s had foul troubles a lot this year but just not getting the minutes I thought a big time recruit would.

A bit of a trap game tonight hosting Penn State who is 12-3. Looks like they have lost to Rutgers and Indiana already in conference but they did beat Purdue pretty soundly. Rest of the teams have been cream puffs. Illini are 10.5 point favorites.

This team is DEEP. There is a lot of talent up and down that bench. They beat the shit out of a decent Penn St. team without KJ and made it look very easy. Tougher matchups to come but then again this was supposed to be a tough matchup. How the hell did they lose to northwestern? That seems like a long time ago.

I'm gonna say this is the best team in the country right now. I wish the Tournament were starting today.

It was interesting watching Ace Baldwin injure himself flopping early in the game trying to sell a foul. They showed the replay a few times and the announcers mention how hard he went down, but none of them pointed out obvious fact it was totally self-inflicted and unnecessary (unless anyone considers drawing a non-shooting foul early in the game is worth hurting yourself for).

Top 5 for sure. Underwood should be coach of the year but I think they'll punish him for how he did it even though it was perfectly legal.

Underwood definitely has something good going down in Champaign. I don't know how he finds these guys but these transfers must like whatever it is he is selling. A couple things are for sure if you play for him - you better not be shy about shooting open threes and you had better be a willing rebounder. The way they swarm the glass after every shot is impressive. The brand of basketball they play looks fun.

He put together a ridiculously talented group that's really clicking right now. Whether they can carry that all the way to March remains to be seen. I couldn't consider him coach of the year unless this team at least gets to the final eight.

He in effect cut every player on his team but one from last year who barely played but has good potential he is starting to show now. He then spent massive amounts on transfers and hit a few massive home runs including a future top 5 NBA pick.

How will they "punish" him for this since as you said it is legal?
