I think Caleb would react best to Carroll's style.

In fact, Carroll could take that laissez faire locker room and make it work. He's done it before.

You’d need to get rid of a few people. Some of them are amongst the Bears only decent players. I’d be fine with it but good luck getting Ryan Poles to make the roster less talented when his seat is basically on fire.

Then again, almost everyone will have huge roster evaluation differences with Poles, and why not, Poles has presided over the creation of the 32nd ranked offense in the NFL, a team that averaged 283.5 yards per game, almost 200 yards a game less than the Ravens.

This here is really the only reason I like Carrol. He’s the one guy out of all these names who can identify talent and manage a team simultaneously -in terms of having proven he can anyway. He’s also probably the 1 guy on this list that would have enough pull to look Kevin and George in the eye and tell them he needs to be in on that process and get them to agree regardless of what Poles says.

He’d also be good at ‘teaching’ Poles how to go about identifying the proper guys and so on. Which in and of itself should be a loud ass alarm that you need to fucking launch Poles due to him needing the training wheels but I digress

im talking myself into mccarthy. it seems unlikely he'd be a complete disaster but also unlikely the team would excel under his leadership. sad that the best i can hope for is a mid coach

Would McCarthy take less than what Jerry Jones offered? I assume the Bears would not be higher than that.

I just don’t see insecure Poles choosing Carroll, McCarthy etc.

I think there’s truth to this. And it’s yet another reason it’s so damn frustrating this idiot team is keeping this absolute moron around: Might not want to give the unproven but top young candidate the influence he wants over personnel, might be too insecure to land a top proven veteran coach.

Not only has he proven he can’t do the job, he’s most likely limiting the search and best options available.

Who knows what's true .....

Per George Ofman, Warren is “enamored” with Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman.

He's taking Flores and we will all be going through this again in 3 years. :?

Bears never learn from their mistakes.

So to beat a dead horse, people spent years bitching about Ted Phillips assumed involvement in football decisions, no matter how strongly Phillips or the Bears denied his football influence.

Kevin Warren openly making football decisions should get him run out of town.

If they take Flores after what he did to Tua, wow. They really will screw Caleb up completely.

Add Packers OC Adam Stenavich to the ever expanding list. Maybe Warren is trying to max out his American Express card points by buying lunch for all these guys.

New Orleans has been oddly quiet in all this. Lots of attention for everyone else's vacancies but they've been under the radar with the Bears/Raiders/Jets dumpster fires. And now add Dallas.

Isn't Brady supposed to go back to loozyanna? I thought their roster and cap situation is so bad no one wants to go there.

I thought that Aaron Glenn was the front runner for the Saints unless they go after McCarthy.

George has been trying to make the Ed McCaskey pin happen. It's not going to happen.

I really can't believe we are going to end up with Mc Carthy...and yet I can.

Uninspired.

We'll probably be better and even reach the level of OK.

Well, he's kinda is equipped for the job. He's dealt with a diva QB and he's dealt with a diva owner. If you think about it, the Bears are a diva franchise.

McCarthy would be a massive disappointment. I'd rather take the chance we get the next Sean Peyton or Sean McVay instead of some guy that probably turns us into a decidedly average team. Is there no young coach named Sean available?

McCarthy is the choice for all those who thought John Fox was a slam dunk.

Agreed. And, looking good in Under Armour shirts must be a base-line qualifier.

I promise if Caleb is as bad as Fields was by year 3, I won’t spend the next year sucking him off while he rides the pine in the AFC.
