You’d need to get rid of a few people. Some of them are amongst the Bears only decent players. I’d be fine with it but good luck getting Ryan Poles to make the roster less talented when his seat is basically on fire.

This here is really the only reason I like Carrol. He’s the one guy out of all these names who can identify talent and manage a team simultaneously -in terms of having proven he can anyway. He’s also probably the 1 guy on this list that would have enough pull to look Kevin and George in the eye and tell them he needs to be in on that process and get them to agree regardless of what Poles says.


He’d also be good at ‘teaching’ Poles how to go about identifying the proper guys and so on. Which in and of itself should be a loud ass alarm that you need to fucking launch Poles due to him needing the training wheels but I digress

I think there’s truth to this. And it’s yet another reason it’s so damn frustrating this idiot team is keeping this absolute moron around: Might not want to give the unproven but top young candidate the influence he wants over personnel, might be too insecure to land a top proven veteran coach.

Well, he's kinda is equipped for the job. He's dealt with a diva QB and he's dealt with a diva owner. If you think about it, the Bears are a diva franchise.

McCarthy would be a massive disappointment. I'd rather take the chance we get the next Sean Peyton or Sean McVay instead of some guy that probably turns us into a decidedly average team. Is there no young coach named Sean available?
