He’s literally a backup.

I’m starting to think you don’t know what that means.

Apparently you don't know what "He'll sign to be someone's starter next season" means. How hard can that be to comprehend if he is "Just A Backup"? Just Asking A Question

If he picks the right team he'll either be on the Browns or a team that will bench him for their rookie.

Ah so many hypotheticals for such a simple premise. You dudes are flailing worse than Buddy Roberts at the Sportatorium!

Well the NFL season isn't over.

But also that's a prediction and not a hypothetical.

It's a hypothetical. Again it's not difficult to comprehend. Either he signs to be someone's starter next season or he doesn't. If you truly believe he's a backup then there would not be all of these "contingencies" and "hypothetical" situations being posed currently.

Get Staley and that bag of Portillos ready :

Per Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network, Chicago will fly McCarthy into Halas Hall for his interview.

“Mike McCarthy’s interview with the Bears on Wednesday will be at Halas Hall,” Pelissero posted on X. “An important day in Chicago’s search.”

He's either going to the Browns because their starter is injured or a team where he may play until the rookie is ready to take his spot.

Hopefully they wrap it up in a week or so so he can start interviewing for his assistants. They are going to need to sign a solid DC too

It's pretty common to sign a veteran so your rookie QB doesn't have to start game 1 or at least to compete with them.

Yadda! Yadda! Yadda!. Whatever. You have too much "uncertainty" for someone that was oh so certain 10 minutes ago
And I am fairly certain that Justin Fields will not sign somewhere to be a "placeholder" for a Rookie QB. I'm certain of that.

How about this. As far as I'm concerned Tyson Bagent is "Just A Backup" I will put bread up that if he signs somewhere else, it will not be as a starter. What say you?

I think this was my first prediction for Fields next year. So I don't know what I was certain of.

You were in the "JustvA Backup" until you had to "put it on the line" Then not so much.

And by the way "Just A Backup" means just what the phrase implies. Just A Backup. Not Just A Backup unless it's the Cleveland Browns he's signing with

He's a backup this year. He will end up one next year unless it's the Browns where the starter is injured. He may start if the rookie isn't ready. Do you need me to clarify this for the 10th time?

So the end result is that you REALLY don't believe that he's "Just A Backup". Got it

The Bears should have tried that before their rookie QB got sacked nine times in a game.

Now you're Gaslighting again. It's clear that you don't know what you're talking about. I provided definitive statements while you keep providing vagueness. It's not tough to comprehend. Perhaps for you it is. If Justin Fields signs to be someone's starter then he's not "Just a Backup". Which is what you repeatedly claimed all season.

It's clear to anyone with a brain that you dudes have your track shoes on at this point.

If a team wanted him to be their starter and believed in him, shouldn’t they have been willing to give up more than a 6th round draft choice last year?

This is getting silly. He will sign to be someone's starter this off season and you dudes will still be yelling "He's Just A Backup". Which makes absolutely no sense. Rather Deranged when you really think about it.

Jesus Christ. Yeah man, somebody will sign him to compete for the starter job. I mean if Spencer Rattler can start some nfl games...

Who cares about last season's trade market? If he's "Just A Backup" then no team will sign him to be their starter.

Yes. I actually wanted them to keep Fields for this and then trade him in season. But he had to be treated like a war hero and ask him what is best for him.

Russell Wilson didn't start at the end of last season. I guess that negates his being a starting QB this season huh?
