Sucks they didn't win a World Series for him in the last few years. A true legend. Stuck with Milwaukee no matter how famous he became.

My dad had a VHS tape of his “Wacky World of Sports” when I was growing up, that was my introduction to him (before “Major League”). It was easy to root for the Brewers until they became more heated rivals of the Cubs.

Legendary man.

Was one of my go to radio listens on SiriusXM when I don't have a Cubs game to listen to. Amazing listen always.

That’s not true (Bob Hope), but he was a frequent guest.

Being Uecker's understudy was a reliable ticket to a lead job: Pat Hughes, Jim Powell, Cory Provus, and Joe Block all moved out and up.

That's where he became known as "Mr. Baseball". Some of those old Carson segments are really hilarious. Really sorry to hear he is gone.

I knew him first in his Light Beer from Miller commercials

that was probably one of the best ad campaigns of all time

His Harry Doyle character in Major League....just hysterical. From what I've read...that was all Uecker improvising.

he had a hit comedy show, national commercials, movies and still kept that Wisconsin accessibility

Boog Sciambi has twice the ego with 1/10 the accomplishment

Some of the funniest clips from what I remember from Johnny Carson shows. Sad to hear this news

Was that the same campaign as Steve Mizerak “just showing off”? Those were great.

I dunno. I might not be getting this even 75% correct but I think it's pretty close. If I had any ambition in life I could google this, but I don't.

The current Miller Lite packaging/cans/bottles are the packaging from that ad campaign. Like 10 years ago or something Miller went back to that packaging on a "temporary" basis while they rebranded Miller Lite packaging. With little or no concerted advertising, sales shot through the roof of Miller Lite. It was all the carryon impacts from the nostalgic feelings from that ancient ad campaign. The "temporary" reversion to the nostalgic packaging is still there today.
