Sounds like Ben Johnson to the Bears is nearly done.

Are you referring to this [tweet]https://x.com/JosinaAnderson/status/1881422886956650690?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1881422886956650690%7Ctwgr%5E13a8c4b56fb76e8a2575a6fee2a2e7c19c1c4526%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fforum.chicitysports.com%2Fthreads%2Fcoaching-gm-interview-tracker-glazer-bears-interviewing-eddie-george-tomorrow-in-person.101139%2Fpage-31[/tweet]

Because that’s 100% obviously a move to put pressure on the Raiders to pony up.

It can be both. Everything indicates that Johnson prefers Chicago. If the Raiders pay him $15 million a year then I'm guessing he happily accepts the 4 year stint with the Raiders before he is fired and walks away with $100 million.

I would disagree that “everything” indicates that at all.

You need to get over whatever bitterness you have in regards to the Bears.

It's been known league wide for a year that Ben Johnson really wanted the Bears job.

The Raiders may overcome it with a lot of cash though.

He’s going to listen to the Bears pitch, get on another plane for Vegas, say the Bears are offering him x amount of money and that Tom Brady & Co. needs to top that figure. They will and he will sign with the Raiders on Wednesday.

You don’t want to be the first visit. Bears are getting used like a cheap whore for leverage.

And if he does come to Chicago to coach a loser stiff like Caleb Williams for a whack job group of DEI hires and some inbred family? Well then he’s an idiot coach who will get exposed very quickly into his tenure.

Win/win for me. In fact him signing in Chicago and me saying the Bears will win four games next year while you all can’t stop hyping this loser team is an even better CALLED IT.

Supposedly the Bears tried to trade for Tomlin who makes $16 million a year. It would be a bad look for them if they wanted Ben and lost him because they weren't willing to go 15 a year for him.

People take less money to play in Chicago.

So would a different coach do better or worse than Ben Johnson?

The one thing the Bears could do is make a short-sighted all-in move like the Khalil Mack trade for an edge rusher and juice the defense to be really good for one year.

But ultimately that team still loses in the wild card round, and would still have to escape the division which seems pretty unlikely with Caleb Williams’ inevitable slump next year.

If you think Ben Johnson is going 4-13 do you think another coach would do better or worse?

He sounds a lot like the Raiders guy but a Jaguars guy.

I haven’t even seen all the desperate bone-headed moves the Bears make this offseason to try and “turn it around fast” in 2025.

But generally speaking there are few coaches league wide who could do anything with this. And those that could would need to bench Caleb Williams, which is not something the Bears are going to allow.

Do you actually think the Bears will be good next year? Or that Caleb Williams is going to improve? Because you’d have to be truly re re re retarded to think that.

They won't be 4-13. That's why I'm asking if you are taking bets on that.

I'd put them around .500 as of now. Caleb may even have a few touchdowns that actually count too.

Well what he’s going to do is throw an absolute shit ton of interceptions. That or the Bears will never score and just get clowned by the likes of the Patriots and Seahawks again. It’s actually kind of hard to tell, the most emotion Caleb Williams showed this year was when his precious interception streak was snapped. He seemed pretty OK with the constant losing.

Just let me know if and when you are taking bets on 4-13.

I know we all want Ben Johnson, but if you are a true Bears fan, deep in your heart, you know 100% they will fuck this up.

Oh yeah. Whatever they touch turns to shit and will until the McCaskeys no longer own the team.
