just want to get people's thoughts down so that "we" know when "people" start changing the standards

I'll be angry if they don't win 8 or more games.

I expect them to have a top 15 offense

3-3 in the division

I just hope the players have fun and are model citizens off the field.

It's a brutal schedule.

I'll say 8-9. 16th best offense. 2-4 in the division, 0-2 against the Packers.

Those days are over. Take your vitamins and say your prayers and you might get a 1-1

Anything less than playoffs is an absolute failure. Not possible to argue otherwise.

I need to see Caleb improve as a QB. if this happens the W's will come.

I also want to see solid coaching decisions made at key game situations without hesitation or delay. far too often eberflus would waver on a key 4th down decision and the seconds lost while wavering impacted the ensuing play or resulted in wasting a timeout. clean up the coaching decisions. Even if i perhaps dont agree with the decision i want it made quickly so the ensuing play can run cleanly and time outs arent wasted.

I am admittedly excited they hired the top coaching candidate.... but i do have reservations that an unknown percentage of the detroit offense success is due to a solid O-line and multiple elite skill position players. It's entirely possible well over 50% of the credit is player talent and not Ben Jonson... so How will Ben handle a subpar offensive line year one? will he go full martz and run what he runs because he's a genius? or can he adapt to do the best he can with the available talent?

This is how ya do it. If Ben Johnson and Caleb are the new Reid/Mahomes, or Even Coughlin/,Eli. then making the playoffs should be the expectation. All of this "optimism" and "positivity" about possibly being mediocre. So Score670 Radio. Where are the REAL MONSTERS OF THE MIDWAY Fans? Who were less "Meatball" and more "Iron Mike"?

Elisha Manning went to the playoffs 6 times in 16 seasons.

It was more said in jest but he does have 2 rings. Which anyone would happily sacrifice going to the playoffs 10 out of 16 seasons in order to achieve.

Point is this. Don't bark about Ben and Caleb being "The Saviors" if ya really don't believe that they are "the saviors"

Or yell about shit in January that you don't expect to occur in December.
Or yell about ONLY because you just know that inept and incompetent Bears Ownership and Management will never get it done. Well they have and now playoffs should be the expectation first year out the gate. No excuses unless the "Generational One" misses significant time I guess.

Didn't you whine incessantly about how "great" things would be if they simply A. Drafted Caleb B. Fired Eberflus and C. Hired Ben Johnson?

Now that all of these moves have been made ya seem a little "chicken"

No. I said those were all good moves. Still true.

Whining would be you saying Patrick Williams would be better than Kawhi (  ), being hilariously wrong and then complaining for years that it was all Billy Donovan’s fault.

If the draft and free agency goes as expected then the playoffs are easily the expectation.

OK we'll have to wait until then. Though something tells me that "as expected" will be just another moving of the goalposts the second that' period is concluded

8-9, 9-8 with being in contention down the stretch for the playoffs sounds right.

Da March To Mediocrity Continues Isn't this the case of Ben Johnson and Caleb being considered "da guys", until they were actually made "da guys"?

Mediocrity would be a step in the right direction. Crawl, walk, run. Not sure the Bears are ready to run yet.

Maybe we get a 7 seed like other mediocre teams do!

It’s possible. You guys would have to more than double your win total, which is pretty uncommon but does happy occasionally.

That's rough. And the schedule next year is going to be a killer. Could be another 5-12/ 6-11

I expect improvement, but I don’t think it will be reflected in the win column. There’s a lot to undo, a lot of players on this team who people think are good but are actually counterproductive. I don’t think you can have a successful football team with a guy like Jaylon Johnson rotting it from within.

If they don’t trade him in the offseason I suspect it’ll come sometime in training camp or before the deadline. Awesome for the Bears long term prospects, but it’ll be tough to lose one of the team’s very few talented players (even if JJ is kinda overrated).

And he’s not the only one.

Obviously don't know the whens but they appear to have winnable home games. Winning those, splitting the division and surprising either SF or the commandos gets them to 10.

I thought you and I were roughly the same age. I assure, it is getting tougher and tougher to talk about long time. I am fairly certain since my time on this board you and NAS(R.I.P.) having discussing Bears Super Bowls. We eventually have to ask the question, will it happen in your lifetime?
