Rick Mirer was once signed to be a starter for the Bears... Just saying.

Yeah true but if the Jets were going to tank they didn't have to sign a starting QB such as Fields in order to do so. They could have just signed the guy YOU believed to be better Russell Wilson  How's that assessment working out for ya right about now?

What? Fields is exactly the QB they would sign. Lets see at the end of FA who is signed to be a starter lower then what Fields received from the Jets.

Darnold received 3/100MIL in comparision.

No one wants Wilson to be their starter and this time last year you claimed that Darnold sucked too. Only to look silly once he had a great season. Your prognostication/assessment skills are sucking more and more by the minute

This is the very same argument that you made about Sam Darnold this time last year

No one serious about winning signs Sam Darnold. He signed for back up money. Probably to get leverage over the Bears asking for a 1st or 2nd round pick for Justin. Justin is going for a 4th or worse.

Justin Fields " trade me to the Steelers for less than what you could get for me elsewhere !! thats where I want to go !! "

One year later " Fuck you Pittsburgh , Im outta here !! "

Wonder why he would do that ? They just signed a STUD receiver , with Pickens on the other side forming a stud WR duo that any qb would want to throw to
After all, all Justin needed was mOrE wEaPoNs to be great, teams were always holding him back and surrounding him with inferior talent that was preventing him from being the MVP player we all know he is and he deliberately turns that down to play for the Jets ??

What a joke. Bears take way less to “do right” by Fields and he just bails after a year from Pittsburgh. Could’ve had at least a third for him, and for what? What did they get out of that gesture?

Zilch. Everyone knew that they were trading him only because they didn't want him to compete with the "Generational" one. If Fields was still on the Bears last season those calls to bench Caleb would have been much louder from Bears fans and they couldn't have that.

I don't think the Jets or Fields will be very good, but I'm certainly happy Justin gets an opportunity and a really nice 1 year guaranteed deal.

I don't think the Jets had a whole lot of options here.

Fields to the jets works on so many levels. Perfect fit of exciting but severely flawed qb and a horseshit organization likely worse than even the Bears. Apparently Aaron Glenn only looking to coach 2.5 years

What’s his opportunity? He’s going to a bad team with no weapons . The excuses will start right away again about why he isn’t lighting it up . Team is bad , no running game , O-Line sucks , receivers are old , it’s raining , it was too sunny , omg why arent they running him more , omg there are too many designed runs why arent they letting him pass !!! ad infinitum .

Garrett Wilson equates to his having "No Weapons"

If Caleb posts these sort of numbers guys around here would be ready to place him in the Hall Of Fame

Justin Fields last 15 games as starter

2,985 passing
735 rushing
26 TD
5 INT

On pace for 17 games
3,385 passing
835 rushing
Total 4220 total yards #steelers

 Raise your hand if you thought Darnold was going to have the season he had in MINN. No one had him doing well enough to receive a 3/100MIL contract this year. Hard to call me out on that prediction. But hey, at least Darnold knows how to throw and was able to make the leap to legit starter. Fields is a gimmick QB and will have a chance to prove everyone wrong in NY this year.

Does anyone here believe Sam Darnold gives your team a legitimate chance to win in the playoffs? I think Seattle is going to find themselves disappointed.

caleb pretty much had those 17 game stats (short a couple hundred on rushing yards but higher passing yards)

he doesnt. but neither did geno and they got a 3rd for trading him with the lateral move to darnold

justin fields will never lead a team deep into the playoffs because late in games when it becomes time to be an actual QB he fails. but some or one here for some reason forgets this.

Yeah and Caleb runs for a higher average. But they trust Caleb to throw because he can.

This is good though. We can easily compare how each plays now. No excuses. Fields chose his destination.

Teams have won the dance with worse than Sam Darnold. The Niners are really headed for a dark age, the Arizona thing is totally benign, McVay and the Rams are a constant threat but realistically the division is winnable.

If they can build a 2016 Denver or 2024 Philly-level defense they can make some serious noise with Darnold. Obviously easier said than done, but look where has Josh Allen really gotten the Bills? Just good enough to get beat by the Chiefs, even when the Chiefs were weak.

You have to go back to the stone ages to find a worse thrower of the football who started all his teams games than Caleb Williams in 2024. Historically bad, worst accuracy this century.

You'll have the chance to do some Caleb over/unders after the draft. I hope you participate.

Good for Fields. He's getting his shot. I'm happy for him. It wasn't ever going to work here, so maybe it works out somewhere else. As for the Bears, I like our guy. I'm going to root for them both. I kinda want fields to succeed more than Rodgers too so there's a rooting interest.

Many that is true, but an incomplete statement.

Agreed. Maybe he learned how to throw. It would be fun to watch.

Which of those 4 of 6 starts where he threw for under 200 yards finally sold you?

Does anyone here believe Sam Darnold gives your team a legitimate chance to win in the playoffs? I think Seattle is going to find themselves disappointed.

Just good enough to get beat by the Chiefs, even when the Chiefs were weak.

they trust Caleb to throw because he can

You have to go back to the stone ages to find a worse thrower of the football who started all his teams games than Caleb Williams in 2024. Historically bad, worst accuracy this century.

You'll have the chance to do some Caleb over/unders after the draft. I hope you participate.

I have Justin Fields to be better "fairly quickly"
