my kids have a few shows that I think followed the Looney tunes/ Animaniacs blueprint IMO and made a really good show.

The one that sticks out the most is Teen Titans Go! This show is hilarious as an adult even.

I also have a softspot for spongebob.

I think I juuust missed SpongeBob. By then I was mainlining Comedy Central and thought I was too old for Nickelodeon. Good time to do so! It's frustrating how few people remember Strangers with Candy and Upright Citizens Brigade.

But yeah, the vibe I always got from SpongeBob was that the suits figured out how to remake Ren & Stimpy without it being alienating or under the control of a high-maintenance sex pest. And sure enough, Ren & Stimpy was a big hit for Nick but SpongeBob has been a super-mega-uber-ultra hit.

My kids were young enough to enjoy SpongeBob and then grown into Regular Show and American Dad....All of which I enjoyed with them.

The wife and I were chatting last night and Looney Tunes came up. We were talking about some of our favorites and I mentioned that I really would like to go back and watch some of the Ralph Wolf and Sam Sheepdog episodes. They would clock into work and the wolf would try to steal sheep all day with Sam thwarting him at every turn, and then they would clock out at the end of the episode. I just looked it up on Wikipedia and there were only 7 shorts with these two but they stick out in my mind very vividly. I may need to try to find a few to stream or watch on YouTube tonight.

If YouTube lets you down, you might try the Acme Video Store. I wouldn't recommend purchasing the slingshot though
