Jimmy Butler will have earned $320 million in his career after this latest extension. Pretty good for a guy who never finished higher than 10th in MVP voting.

I would've taken him as a life long Bull over the LaVine poo poo platter we have been served up for the last 10 years. Worst trade in franchise history.

Butler would never have been a life long member of any team. He has more changes of heart than Leonardo DiCaprio.

All of Butler's ",unhappiness" with franchises pertains to money. Whenever it's contract time he starts whining and acting out. Miami wasn't going to extend his deal so he engineered his way out of Miami. Same thing he did in Minnesota.

I looked at the score and thought it had to be an error.

Only lost by 40. Glad to see they made it competitive in the 2nd half

And LaVine doesn't have any heart.

Bulls keep losing yet maintain firm grip on the last play-in spot at 22-33. Nice league.

Dog Days of The NBA season primarily. Though I do believe that Josh Giddey is a keeper. I'd move Coby while his value is 'currently high. Though they may want to keep him seeing that he is on a "team friendly" contract.

Giddey has been playing at an all-star level since the break. Difference making player for a few months now. Will it last? No idea, but definitely tired of all hosts on the Score having the (shockingly) the exact same position on him. I wonder if any of that is tied to the off-court accusations, but whatever. He's earning a long term deal unlike Patrick Williams who shouldn't even be in the rotation. That guy is awful.

Coby White, Matas and Giddey are looking like the nucleus of the next Bulls team.

Dog days or not, Lakers and Nuggets have skin in the game and they got wiped out in the 4th quarters. First time I've been anxious to see more Bulls games in years.

I still don't think that Coby is a "winning player". At least not as a team's best or 2nd best player. And once this particular contract is up he is in line to be played like one. Giddey might be good enough to be a team's 2nd best player. Thus if there is choice on whom to pay between the 2 then you have to pay him. This hot streak began once he began to play at all star caliber level and his style of play lends itself to winning.

They still have to make move on Billy D as well.

Nuggets were without Joker and Gordon however and the Lakers are a mirage.
I watch the Bulls in good and bad times. And for the first time in years they have "pieces" with which to build around. I still would have preferred that they tank as opposed to another year of play in judo. That Lavine trade looks to be a steal too. Now they have a few tradeable assets that they can move in the offseason provided that AK doesn't ask for too much back. And even if they aren't moved they are all young enough to be productive players next season if he decides to keep them.

I don't fully understand the Coby White contract issue that KC Johnson has mentioned, but it sounded to me like they can only offer him 140% of his current contract? Not sure it's right or not, but if it is, wouldn't that force a trade this off-season because he would get a larger deal in free agency, assuming he plays at a level around this?

If they trade Vuc, Collins/Smith become their center tandem for next season. KC says they have 14 players under contract for next season already (assuming Giddey). If that's the case, aren't they more likely to be quiet?

Who do you see them looking to move? Vuc or Ayo for salary relief/2nd round picks?

Ayo has a team friendly deal. Don't see them moving him. Ball and Vuc for sure. I could see both being moved to a team that wants to contend. Ball's new contract is inexpensive and Vuc's expires after next year. The Bull's best path was tanking but since they have eschewed this particular route they have to make a trade. And their most valuable asset besides Giddey appears to be Coby White currently imo.

They have Bird rights on Coby so once he hits FA, they can pay him whatever. So they have to trade him or else they risk giving you a stroke.

It's an interesting nucleus if they were all rookies. Once you have to pay two of them a combined $80-90 million a year it looks like the same old perennial play in team bullshit.

It's a bit of a problem. Theoretically, you'd have to sign a FA stud under the cap before you resign Coby and Giddey. Bird rights say you can. Be way over the cap but as we all know, Michael Reinsdorf has stated going over the cap isn't a problem. HE SAID IT! And i believe it.

There really isn't any realistic path or hope of them being relevant in the next 5 years. You needed to trade Lavine, Vuc, Demar, Caruso for picks, tank this year and next in what are considered to be very strong back to back drafts in 25/26 and you're probably looking at a pretty bright future 15 months from now with the patrick williams contract left as the only fuck up from this era and clean books outside of it.

Instead they traded for Giddey who played as well as anyone could realistically hope this year and instead of it improving their situation it's made it worse. Like the Vuc trade, that trade was indefensible the second it happened and it's only going to age worse as we continue to be mired in 30-40 win seasons for the forseeable future.

Matas is dope though, which is nice.
