Longtime news anchor for Roe and Garry, was a link to the old Larry Lujack/Steve and Garry days well into the 2010s. Died after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Gotta love the old Canarble Wagon.

Yeah, it was those four together for the better part of a decade, but for a while it seemed like 890 kept firing her. They tried to replace her with Amy Jacobson at one point.

Apparently Jim Johnson was there in the '60s for the old WLS/CFL war, too. Wow.

She was indeed . That was the last time I actually routinely would listen to a radio show . It wasn’t in the same league as but it reminded me a lot of Steve and Garry.

A 'battle' with alzheimer's?
It's on the Mt Rushmore of undefeateds. I can't think of a crueler way to end life.

It's like the old Norm joke about cancer: technically, they fought to a draw.

My dad has late-stage frontotemporal dementia, which is similar to but not the same as Alzheimer's. Any form of dementia is truly an evil disease.

RIP...can remember him doing his thing, listening to the big 89 in the car. catherine johns was the other news reader and lujack always prodded her to make comments about the news items. not so much so with johnson.

I once got to observe Roe and Garry (& Jim J) in studio courtesy of a coworker’s winning bid in support of a school fundraiser for Garry’s daughter. It included a brief sit down with the guys after the show. All were very nice, although Roe was just going through a divorce. Jim was a funny guy and a true Wisconsin soul. R.I.P.

The Canarble Wagon was fun. It was a tough choice between that show, B&B and MJH back then. Wasn't there also a homeless guy named Clyde who would be brought into the studio and then creep on Christina? But then Garry's damn wife fucked it all up.

Also a few years before that Jay Marvin would make fun of Johnson on his show playing the sound drop "FULL FRIDAY PACKAGE!"
