They will draw more in that minor league stadium in Sacramento than Oakland

Yeah I was thinking the same thing yesterday looking over scores. What the hell is going on?

A lot of extremes. The White Sox starters have been great, Rafael Devers is 0-19 with 15 strikeouts (!!), the Brewers have 8 pitchers on the IL and look atrocious.

And we may have the 2019 baseball back.

But in general, technology is starting to help the hitters catch up to pitching advances. The new bat designs are part of it, as is tech which can make a pitching robot for batting cages to simulate opposing pitchers pitch mix including arm angle and pitch shape.

on a travel day, day game after a night game - suzuki in RF, tucker the DH. busch gets some bench, turner at 1B. amaya gets the day off. surprised nico is playing.

taillon vs. springs. springs was another of the excellent starting pitchers the rays had. we'll see if he's back on track.

Walk, two stolen bases, sac fly, run. I love it. So glad baseball is back.

Cubs 9-9 stealing bases.

Happ two opposite field hits….

And three run bomb.

Wow.

One of my favorite characters. And that racing scene was great. Dumb comedy.

Ok small sample size, but here is the way I see this Cubs team

Cannot compete with the Dodgers. They will lose one of three or worse every time.

Can split with the rest of the good teams like the Dbacks. Maybe below .500 by a few games.

Gonna pound the weak teams like the A’s. Going to win two of three over the course of the season.

It seems like a recipe for 90 wins.

The stupid music was the best part.

I also loved when they were looking for housing. They send him to the Japanese guy’s house. The man answers and says a bunch of stuff in Japanese and ends in English with “nerd”.

still doesn't feel like the season has started.

doesn't help that MLB coverage is almost non-existent besides the local market channels, which i don't get.

For every team that has been crushing the ball, there is a team like Atlanta or Houston where their best players are not getting XBH. And then there is Rafael Devers, 0 for 19 with 15 K and 2 BB.

Baseball’s a funny thing especially in April. But the trend is pitchers dominating. A week of offense does not change it.

I don’t know if anyone caught it on the Cubs broadcast yesterday but they were talking about bat weights. And apparently the Babe used very heavy bats. But the interesting thing is that Jim D speculated that he faced pitching throwing in the low 80’s. I find that hard to believe given that high school players can often hit 90.

General fitness and muscle tone wasn’t what it’s now?

Fine but kids that weigh 150 are throwing 85 in high school.

They won the division when they acquired Tucker. All I heard was "waah, we can't re-sign him. We lost Belly, waah."

People were generally smaller 100 years ago. This is 40 years ago.

Surprised Cubs are having "opening day" on Friday with a game on Saturday. Supposed to rain all day Friday.

I'm supposed to be going, so of course it will rain.
