good for him. it's too bad we are a small market team that cant afford to keep talent

I thought I heard there are four Cy Young winners developed by the Sox pitching for other teams. That is JR legacy

Waves of talent (for other teams)

100%. Throw a lot of money and years at a guy with career arm problems.

Pitching is a farm. You can grow them 95+ MPH, use them and dispose of them. What does a "starter" bring to the table where they are worth $30 mil? Turns out coddling doesn't prevent injury, but there's no other choice at that price tag. The Red Sox probably won't regret it, nor the Dodgers, Yankees, Phillies, or Cubs, but every other team thinks there's no bang for the buck there.

The Red Sox gave Sale a big contract. He had arm trouble during it. It still bought them a World Series. They'd take that every single time and obviously, would do it again.

Of course. The number of teams that can pay for what probably is an uninsurable pitcher is dwinding to a handful. Mets guy looked at his balance sheet and nearly stroked out. He's done with pitching breaking his ass. He's going to get a Arm Farm too. It's stocked and plentiful. Red Sox came and found a juicy ripe pitcher? Fine, take him. We got Joe Schmo who just came out of the research lab throwing 97 and can spin it. Plant him, he'll be ready in a year. If not, throw him in the sweat shop and see if his arm falls off.

Not only his injury history, but his demands last year that he wouldn’t accept a deadline trade and pitch in the playoffs unless given a new contract.

The Subdivision also predicted the demise of Chris Sale if I recall. Players tend to perform better/stay healthier once they leave the pit of Arrow Down Ballpark

still not willing to lose the downward facing arrow though. they did their best to make the stadium look full by making the upperdeck too dark to view and not picturing the outfield seating

Chris Sale pitched under 50 innings over three years from 2020-22 while he was with the Red Sox.

In six seasons in Boston, Sale had 2 elite seasons, 2 very good seasons and 2 injured seasons. He also helped them win a World Series. But congrats on not paying him 145 million! You sure showed everyone!

That wasn't your point. You were proven wrong. You look foolish flailing around for a life preserver.

He already had his TJS, which would make me more comfortable than a guy who hasn't had it yet.
