Why is Turner DH when he couldn’t hit Glasnow when he was still young. And now Turner looks washed up

Sutcliffe is awful. Every prediction has been wrong.

Edit: “Tucker plays every game…..he played 70 games last year.”

Edit 2: “93 miles per hour. He may reach back and get a few more.” Change up at 81 for a pop out.

Sutcliffe is almost 69 (nice!).

I'm starting to get those, "man I'm old" moments when I see the ages of players I watched as a kid.

When MLB starting pitcher pitch counts started to be officially kept in 1988.

1988 Cubs average
6.6 - inings
99 - pitches
44 - 80-99
28 - >120
167 - max

2024 Cubs average
5.3 - innings
85 - pitches
113 - 80-99
0 - >120
106 - max

I'm sure that trend is similar for all of MLB

Sutcliffe on with W&S. He still Cubs shills but tones down the Marquee clown act quite a bit. He'd be a great guy in the booth without the praise shtick. A good storyteller on W&S.

The sound is missing on the Chicago broadcast on the package. The San Diego one is fine.

Again Rick…a little bit more velocity. Both pitches were at 99 on my screen.

Pleasantly surprised to see they won this game. I thought after the crazy at bat that ended up in a HR by Machado they were for sure losing.

Just saw an article on The Athletic where the baseball GMs ranked the top baseball organizations and for the second year in a row, the Cubs and White Sox got no votes

Surprised to see get Shaw sent down especially after the amounts of praise Counsel received for sticking with PCA when he wasn't hitting.

Shaw gets 65 plate appearances against some good pitching teams like LA, SD, Ariz and if he's not Mike Schmidt he gets sent down?

Shaw had a leg kick that doesn't translate to MLB success. They wanted to convince him to change it. Only way to do that was to show him it didn't work in the majors and restructure his stance in AAA. You're not making that kind of change in the majors.

Bringing a guy up to start and then sending him back down is the new way to manipulate the service time rules
