It didn't take long for this "pernicious myth" to be debunked.

Anthony Davis is a china doll. Still a dumb trade for Dallas.

Dallas didn't even make the playoffs.

Only because their top 2 guys missed significant chunks of time after the trade was made. And remember, good ol.Luk missed a ton of games before the trade was made.
The Lakers had their full unit and were gentlemanly swept.

And Luka was once again shown to be a huge liability defensively. Can't guard a light pole. To think that MANY were running around proclaiming this the worst trade in history with being the case is asinine.Anthony Davis is a HOF who still plays at an extremely high level. And unlike Luka is not repeatedly targeted on Defense either.

It's true other than the 1 in 4 chance AD is healthy enough for a playoff run. It's a GIANT fly in the ointment. Again, the best ability is availability. Bill Walton could've been on Mt Rushmore. But he isn't. Embiid is 0-400 against Jokic. A total failure on the most key ability.

Even Luka being exposed two years running still makes it a bad trade. Luka's problem? Blow bys and laziness. AD's problem? Failed body. I choose Luka.

AD has a ring and has played in more games the past 3 seasons than Luka. Its not like Luka is Michael Cage when it comes to durability.
And AD will always be in better shape as well.
The only thing that would worry me would be the age difference between the 2. But Luka is currently a 25 year old with a 35 year old's body.

This trade will look better and better for Dallas the more time marches on.

Fake ring. Davis had like 6 months off.

Time is the truthteller.

I said it was a bad trade for LA.

However, Dallas lost the trade too. Not sure AD will ever play a full season. Dallas could have gotten a haul from Houston, for example. It's just straight up weird, clearly Harrison thought AD would stay healthy even though he has clearly shown he's incapable of doing it. This is less about Luka and more about AD.

The thing is, Lakers didn't improve. In my mind, they fell out of contention with the trade. LeBron is kinda cooked. He's like every other old guy. He has to speed himself up to compete but when he speeds himself up, all the bad things that can happen to old guys, happen. Next year, he should just park himself in the post where the game is slower and contribute that way. His TOs are a huge problem on the perimeter. $50 mil to park in the post...oof.

I'm not going to question it. I'm just going to enjoy it. I hate the Lakers and always have.

What the last 2 playoffs have illustrated is that Luka is hardly the guy that everyone believes him to be. Very good player for sure. Transcendent player no.

him and kyrie had a hell of a run last year. I wouldnt be using that to illustrate your point. no doubt being less fat could help him. you can argue nico was right about his defense but that doesnt change the fact the return they got for Luka was abysmal. the backstory on how the trade went down is a bad look to say the least for the Nico.

Anthony Davis is clearly the better player though. Which is why any talk regarding this being the worst trade in history is ludicrous

Lebron was so injured he can't even attend the Met Gala. No wonder they lost.
