Wouldn't be surprised if this is another Mike Babcock situation where he's gone before he ever coaches a game. Most of the league has finally turned a corner where all these pre-lockout hardass coaches don't really fit anymore and coaches need to be in touch with their players' feelings. I think teams are finally, only now, done with John Tortorella and Peter Laviolette.

Also, it's suburban L.A., which sets the stage perfectly for comfy libs to protest the hire and make a constant stink about it. I guess we'll see what happens, but it's hard to imagine a long stint in Anaheim for Quenneville.

You may have found a perfect cast member for Season 4 of The White Lotus. Kyle, take that Pico de Uncle Rico!

There are probably about 25,000 angry redditors, the same as there are in any other mid-size sun belt market. That's about all they need. It's like the old line about how there are only 18,000 Hawks fans in Chicago but they're all at the Stadium every game.

Isn't there a big trial going on in Canada about child sexual assault in hockey? Maybe they've never been fine.

I never put much blame on Quenneville in all this, actually. Guy was trying to do his job and thought people above him would take care of it. They didn't.

Sometimes no means no, sometimes no means yes and sometimes yes means no.
