Time for a fresh thread here....

Anybody catch Marc talking about listener Fireman Frank coming to the Silverman family Thanksgiving? Interesting. It appears Frank is dating Silvy's sister (hose joke anyone?) and her brother is none too happy about having to spend the day with a listener. He joked that Elmhurst Steve may be over for New Year's.

I can understand a certain level of discomfort, but it was weird to me he'd brow beat the guy for two reasons:
#1. His sister is dating the dude. Stands to reason he'd go in with a healthy attitude toward both of them about their courtship.
#2. Uhh.... because he's a listener. ??? Mr. Marc has come a long way at being more approachable... more accessible... happier... more likeable. I think Silvy has come of age and has tackled several demons nicely in the last six months.

Why take two steps back?

Silvy is probably worried that the Fireman will talk about the "Waddle and Silvy" show at the table. Thing like "What's Waddle really like?" or "Who's the biggest jerk athlete" or "Who was the creative genius that came up with 'My wife or my radio partner'?".

I don't know the fireman but I'm sure he'll have the sense not to do that. I assume this is a listener that Silvy knows personally. Am I right? I guess that would be a little weird. You hang with a listener and now he's banging your sister. Could be worse, Silvy. Could be Woodridge Ryan, Doug from Evergreen Park or me for the love of God. At least you know your sister will be safe if there is a fire.

You've got some fame Silvy. Don't be pissed. It's better than having a show and nobody knowing who you are. That would be worse. Like Ron Burgandy once said..."I'm kind of a big deal. People know me."

You just sit there and talk about the Lions and Cowboys game. I've had to hang with people I hate on Thanksgiving. That's all I do. Or have some fun, Silvy. Make up shit about Waddle. Make him sound like a weirdo. "Ya know, Fireman Frank, Waddle likes to sacrafice rabbits." That's what I would do.

I understand how it could be uncomfortable but it will be what he lets it be. Enjoy the day and everything will be fine.

I'll bring over a couple cases of beer and I've got a ball signed by the entire 1992 Chicago Bears (DA COATCH's glorious final year) that just I just need Waddle's signature. Then, maybe Tom can track down Lemuel Stinson and Troy Auzenee for me and get them too. Cool?

Silvy should be grateful that it's FF he hung out with and not some jean short wearing cardinal fan.

I enjoy the show a lot, but find it disappointing that the two most viewed and responded to threads in the section are those stated by or involving Mac. Maybe Silvy needs to up his post count to get a reaction from the board but he probably doesn't care. To him we're all double a washouts.
