swanson back to hitting. tucker, kelly and suzuki have cooled off. nico, only starting 2nd baseman in all of baseball without a HR. when you're getting no slugging from 3B and 2B and the 1B is average slug...no chance for early separation with the recent 9 game winning streak 2nd place club in the division. don't expect the cardinals to keep up the pace...cubs on track to win a weak division and then easy fodder in the playoffs. smart buyers at deadline time could make them more formidable in the playoffs, likely clean out their farm system. no need to wheel out the overweight assad for key sept. baseball.
