I don't think we deserve to sing the song. At best you can Frank Zappa/Lou Reed speak-sing the song.

These smart lights after wins have to be annoying as shit if youre actually in the neighborhood.

Hopefully tomorrow night is the night the dam bursts and they just hang like 20 runs on these world-historic bums but it's gonna be 58 and rainy tomorrow so it'll probably be another one-run game.

I am not sure if you noticed, but the Cubs fans around here are enjoying this team. It is unlikely they are going to win the World Series as there are several teams that are more stacked than them. Regardless, it is going to be a fun season.

The Cubs made bold trades to get PCA and Tucker. They signed productive Japanese players and a top defensive shortstop. They have found several good arms in both the starting rotation and bullpen. They resigned Happ, which was not a sure thing at the time. They went out and stole a top five manager from their main division rival. We are seeing young players like Busch and Shaw contribute to wins. They have also invested in their own tv network, their own stadium, and the surrounding area. Contrast most of that with your team.....still begging for public money AGAIN and are a Rockies team away from being the worst in baseball AGAIN.

Piss on this as much as you want. But the Cubs appear to have completed a successful rebuild. It is not a finished product, but they are showing a lot of promise. This is a really fun team to watch.

The question is going to be what they can turn Caissie, Alcantara, and Ballesteros into? None of them have a full time job open on this roster until 2027, and we don't even know if there will be a 2027 season given the CBA expiration at the end of 2026.

Theo turned Gleybar Torres into three months of peak Aroldis Chapman, but Torres was a top-5 MLB prospect. Let's see if Jed can turn this threesome into a couple of key pieces to contribute in 2025 and 2026.

I trust the organization to balance the here and now with the future. They were proven right on most of the 2016 core with Kyle being the only miss, and even he had more than enough chances in Chicago.

And a rough decade for your team to maybe be competitive again. Sox fans would love to have half the season the Cubs are having this year.

I have been told here for 20 years that Cubs fans enjoy their team irrespective of record. Your fandom has been clapping seals since at least the 60s. Also, I don't believe your muted enthusiasm on topics like Put Cock in Ass or World Series aspirations. I know your true feelings and I'm going to hold you accountable to them, despite your protestations.

I am sorry you have had such a rough few years of baseball in the subdivision. Maybe by the time you are in the nursing home you will have a team you can enjoy watching again.

Lol, you are going to hold me accountable to my true feelings with said feelings determined by you? Sing the song GD, 95 times in the regular season and maybe one or two more in the playoffs.

I wouldn't rule anything out as long as they can grab some starting pitching, because what they have going now seems like it won't take them far. Even still, I don't think the Yankees, Tigers, or Phillies are really that much better than the Cubs. The Dodgers are allowed to exist on another level. That's a problem. But the Cubs shouldn't turn out to be a just-happy-to-be-there team.

Cubs successfully claw and scratch their way to a sweep against what will be the worst baseball team in history.

There's no comparison with the Sox doing it. They had everything: notoriously evil owner, so much other Sox lore to build on, and a true comedy of errors on the field. The Rockies are the most white-bread, forgettable franchise. The ignominy is, quite frankly, wasted on them.

The Marlins would be much more gratifying, yes.
