Cubs are broke and in contract hell, but yet they are able to scrape a few nickles for chad fox..isnt this like the 3rd time they have signed this guy only to have his arm fall off all the time? Cant sign any free agents, but yet, lets make sure the one armed chad fox gets a paycheck.

I'm guessing they hope Fox will return to the form that helped the Marlins win a World series and helped the Cubs a few years ago-before he got hurt. It's probably a low cost effort to replace Howry's spot. I think Fox-when healthy, is pretty decent. Not much risk in the deal. I'm sure Hendry will consider it a bonus, if Fox is able to get through the year without a long stint on the DL.

Not sure why they'd even waste a penny on a guy who can't stay healthy. They claim to like their minor league talent - go with one of them instead of Fox.

I would load up my minor league team with guys like that, pay the guy $3K a month and then prorated MLB min when you call him up and if you can get 4 outings from him before his arm falls off again, fine with me.
