Whats up with the Cubs and Brian Giles? I don't think he is what they need, but I keep hearing the rumors of them bringing him in with Peavy.

I like him in RF instead of Fukadome. Fukadome is probably superior defensively. But Giles is still a good outfielder and a superior hitter. He's got decent pop too, when he's not playing in a park that's the size of Yellowstone. But if given the choice, I would rather have Abreau.

I know SD is trying to get rid of everyone, but would he want to come here? Sure, he would be wanted here, but I heard he wants to stay in SoCal. However, the options for where to send him in that area are limited to one for the Pads (they won't send him to the Dodgers, that's for sure).

He has a no-trade clause, wants to stay in CA. Giles best days are behind him, they can keep him.

You're right. His best days are definitely behind him. Better to get someone approaching their prime or in their prime. Giles WAS a very good player. But today, he is just slightly above average. Better options remain.
