Annie's going on vacation next week....hopefully it's her.
I don't think it's Murphy - the Score uses him as their way of saying, 'hey, we cover the Cubs here'.

If there is a god, that abomination will be sent back to WGN in exchange for Memelo.

Mike has been very harsh to her lately. However, if she was getting shown the door I have a feeling she would have bit back at mike this week.

Not to hijack this thread, but I'll ask anyways.

How did Annie go from a traffic reporter to being a co-host on a morning show on a major frequency ?

My god...you'd think you'd have to host a weekend, weeknight show first....

Murph can get a total asswipe but I thought he was pulling in some solid numbers or was in the past.

I know you didnt ask me....but as a frequent guest in the wagers section....I'd say 8-5 Murph will be back in his chair tomorrow at noon.

Well I was right about this, however, i would lay odds of 7 to 1 that Murph doesnt make it to June 1.

Gee, I dunno. Buffone's been without a permanent slot for awhile, too. If I were in a culling mood, I'd strongly consider Doug as well.

Face it though: not having an evening show whose hosts you can rely on being there (never minding the Sox or Hawks pre-empt) is a fairly large weakness in their schedule. Even if "Jesse-till-the-pregame", or Rongey in the same capacity...

sorry I've been away, don't listen to murph and not up on what's going on lately. Did something happen -- other than the usual disgust from some on the board -- since last week's meltdown that puts his future in immediate question? I chalked up the previous B&B intimations as wishful thinking. And it's typical B&B "we have the inside scoop" nonsense from those dolts. They have a good chance of being right sometime this year, with the turnover at that station. If somebody gets canned a year from now, B&B will say "we told you so a year ago".

My take on Murph: If Mitch is a good manager...and that's certainly an open question...he's not likely to can a guy in the immediate aftermath of a squabble among team mates. Taking sides is rarely wise. In addition, as Dolphin says, the guy has pulled decent (for the Score) numbers. And it's baseball season, and the guy is as close to a baseball guy as the Score has. With baseball fans running from the Sox broadcasts, the Score needs a baseball guy and a Cubs guy. I'd say the odds Murph makes it to June 1 are very good. I'd take EGG's action too. I make it 1-4 (bet 4 to win 1) that he makes it to June 1.

I think the odds are much better that the North show is dumped before Murph. The rearranging of the deck chairs and moving North back to a mid-day slot might bump Murph. I said here last summer when the Score bought the Sox that the purchase bought the current management team a year. This September will mark two years for the North morning show. I don't think the Score will start another football season with that anchor holding down its morning drive time revenue.

Hey Coast-to-Coast, are you the same cat that used to do a handicapping segment on North's Show back in the day? Did you two have a falling out?

Yes, Rock, I did a handicapping gig as part of a little business arrangement I had with Mike. There was no "falling out" at all. I stopped my handicapping side business when I took a new day job. Like anyone else here, I'm just expressing an opinion.

OK, cool thanks for knowledge.

... and I agree. the morning show is very disjointed. North has replaced your insightful acumen with some Bookie Priest. Talk about high school radio. ;)

They'd be better off swapping North with Murph - and pairing Murph with Mully ;)

I think I'm about the only one here that actually likes Murph's show. Nevertheless if he is to go, I hope you are right. With football season coming up, expanding a show with Mulligan would be a more logical move. Assuming he has time to do it.

On the other hand, LH does cover the Bears for the station...

I'm one of the few Murph fans here as well. I feel like I am in the bizzaro world when I enter this section because I have always liked his show (except for mornings).

I'm the least of your worries here. One last thought and I'll leave you to continue wasting bandwidth. Since you've obviously come here with an agenda and are seeking a cheap thrill, can I recommend whacking off instead?

That's all. Thanks.
