I'm with you Magic, that's why I said Shark would be great in studio on nfl.com

It's the coin toss to decide possession for overtime and Magic is on the edge of his seat.

Magic has over indulged on alcohol, has none left, is pissed off and has to go to work tomorrow (I'm channeling). Yeah overtime!

WBBM 780's Jeff Joniak & Tom Thayer wanted the Bears to kick a field goal immediately after the interference penalty, but so far not the case...

Thats not so much true anymore. He's running better routes than Davis, which is kind of sad.

In the postgame, looked like Hester was sitting on Deion's lap.

I'll tell you what- they may have ruined him as a returner, but Hester is paying OK as a receiver. He's running fairly crisp routes. He's keying well off of DBs. He's got pretty decent hands. He still misses reads, but that's probably the last thing to come. His hands are at least adequate; a couple of his catches tonight were better than they look, like the hitch on the outside he cought in the second quarter, IIRC. He's not an all-pro, but he's servicable, and he could be a steady #2. If only we had a #1...

Sounds like you've taken the right approach. Relax,...and good luck.

(and remember sometimes a mere 500 word answer is more than enough  )

The downside to this win in seeing Forte after the game - I have a suspicion he will be limited for a while.

That's not fair. Hester has been running different routes, and in this situation, he broke doube coverage. A little longer throw from Orton and that's 6.

The replay official upstairs ruled A.P. didn't have possession of the ball on the fake punt, so the Bears were charged a timeout...

Does anyone know how this could have possibly be ruled incomplete? Collinsworth called it right, but he was saying something about Peterson got hit before he had his 2nd foot down it didn't count as possession or something. It didn't make any sense since he had possession all the way through the play until he was already flat on his back.

In fairness the pass was behind him but Rashied has been bad this year. This guy was consistently made the big catches in previous years but now he has become a liability.

I was bitching and moaning about the fact that this guy continues to get playing time, yet the Bears are sitting out Lloyd because out of stubbornness. This has to be the only coaching staff in the league that would put inferior talent on the field out of spite.

I believe because he didn't get the 2 feet down before the hit, he has to maintain possesion completely. In that case, the ground can cause the fumble. Basically, he has to stand up with the ball and give it to the ref.

Rex Orton must have hit defensive lineman with 5 passes last night. Anybody have stats on '05 Rex v. '08 Orton after 14 games?

That's a really convoluted/idiotic rule.

The 2 big interference calls on Hester: I'm not sure he catches either if he's not interfered with. Orton also missed him on a 95 yarder in the 1st quarter.

That being said, Hester beat that DB all night long so that's a good sign. He is a threat. He also made a couple of big catches over the middle and on some out routes. He's getting better. He's been decent to good the last 4 or 5 games.

Don't forget the 2 rushing TDs for Orton...Zero for Rex. Also Rex had 7 fumbles, 4 lost, and Orton has 6 fumbles, 5 lost.

Comparing based on consistency is no contest. Kyle has had his worst games this season in 2 of the last 3 weeks...and his ratings in both of those games are still higher than Rex's 5 worst. Rex had 7 games over 100 qb rating, Kyle has 2 so far.
I don't think there are many, if any, people who think Rex should have been given another shot or still deserves one.

Comparing these two QB's at this point is like comparing their quarter mile times when Rex had a Fully Blown Camaro and Orton had a Focus. Rex had much better and more professional receivers in Berrian and Muhammad. Ortons big threat is journeyman Hester? Droppy Rasheed Davis? Earl who? Lloyd can make some grabs, but he's a pussy.
Rex also had much better play from the o line back then as well.
