i dig these two...goff has shown great strides compared to when he first got on the air; more of these two please....but of course if they're ever gonna get it, it won't be at 670, considering the only ones that do get a shot are over-the-hill blowhards or untalented hacks whom just happen to be close with people that have some stroke around there.

pretty sad really.....less murph/jesse/zaidman/holmes....more drinky and horny

I disagree with that. The Score does give chance to wet behind the ear producers. Look at Hood, Rodgers, Holmes and others. In fact these guys have better chance getting on the air then long time guys in the business because Mitch knows these guys will work for cheap. LOL.

I listened for an extended period of time yesterday. The show is good. I agree that Goff in particular is getting better on the air. He always had thoughts but was kind of a mush mouth in getting them articulated. He seems to have cleared up that problem.

I listened yesterday, too. I don't know if I'd say the show is good, but it is getting better. A lot of it is too derivative of B&B for me--why listen to an imitation of that show when you can hear the real thing? The most annoying B&B-related quality about the show is the way both hosts--but especially Goff--giggle so much at their own only mildly funny jokes.

I know there some producers that turn to be excellent hosts, but does this irritate anyone that the Score just puts them behind a microphone, and the casual listener thinks that these people are experts ?

Because it's the weekend.

I don't think they are weekday shift good. I think they are weekend shift good.

But I've already heard a lot of their "thoughts" on B&B. I don't need a marionette version of "The Best of B&B". Still, when they get away from the B&B shtick, they can be, as you say, weekend good. Unfortunately, though, as BD notes, WSCR has dramatically lowered expectations for what "weekend good" is--that is, when it's not running syndicated programming. And now Mitch is doing the same thing with the evening show. This is why I think Mitch wants to show Ofman the door--he apparently wants to cut labor costs wherever he can, without contemplating the effect such cuts have on the "sound" of the station.

The giggling like school girls is always annoying. They make an off handed line that you hear everyday at your local bar and then they giggle and think they are bad asses because they said it on the air.

Anything that keeps Jesse and Zaidman off of my radio is all good with me.

Did anyone catch the Canellis and Hub abortion on Saturday? Two assholes in love with their opinions. Two minutes in, and to paraphrase Dane Cook, I wanted to punch a baby.

I agree.....all that these guys do are make comments that you hear at your favorite local bar and then they giggle! I'd rather hear Sporting News Radio or a replay of one of the weekday shows! Who do these guys think they are? Why are they on-air?

Why won't Bernsy let you sit in when the diddler is out. Is he threatened by your greatness drinky? Does Terry let you sit in because he needs some one to punch the callers up and is to lazy to read the emails. LOL. Go try to steal some air time anyway drinky. Do a Terry impersination or something.

Drinky,

Are you embarassed or angry that the unlistenable Rogers and Zaidman get more air time then you?

Yeah really drinky, knock out Bernsies mic or something. He is way too in love with himself to have 4 hours to wax poetic on anything. Jump in and f with him.

Since there have been rumors here for a long time that there's going to be another Score shake-up come July...what do you think of this line-up...not saying it's good or bad, just something Mitch might come up with

6-10 Mike & Mike (North and Murphy)
-might as well but the 2 biggest egos together, plus they seem to be able to play nicely, mostly because Murph fears North

10-2 Mike Mulligan and Dan Bernstein
-4 hours of bad Monty Python impressions...why not pair up the Score's 2 self proclaimed smartest guys....you could dub it "Sports Talk for the Intellectual Set" kind of the anti-Carmen and Silvy

2-6 Terry Boers and Matt Abbatacola
-the May/December romance of sports talk radio. Maybe being paired up with a younger, hipper host would rejuvenate everyone's favorite curmudgeon

6-10 Doug Buffone and Jason Goff
I miss Uncle Pisspants on the radio. Again, maybe pairing him with a young guy makes him bring his game up a bit.

10-SNR starts
rotation of Zaidman, Holmes, Rongey, Schuster, etc doing Score Wrap-Up

This would inject the new blood of the 2 most talented (IMO) into the station, hopefully re-energizing its old farts. I really like Hanley, but his journalistic responsibilties keep him off the air too much. Maybe add him to TB and MA one day a week?

I agree Hummer, Mulli wouldn't always agree with Berns.

Murhp and North- Hey its got to be better than the MNMShitfest.

I miss Unlce Concussed too. Doug has always been entertianing to me. Maybe it is because, as a child I was always Doug on defense and Doug is so harmless. Except on Sundays after a bad loss.

Terry Would be better with anyone. I think the show is in its decline, kinda like a sitcom that stayed on three years too long.

Buffone is like that nice grandpa who gives you candy when your mom said no, BUT you also know not to piss off or he'll break off your arm at the elbow. Plus, Doug is legitimately emotional about sports, a rarity at WSCR.

Ed and OB after a Bears loss is appointment radio, another rarity @ WSCR.

Give me back my Uncle Fuzzy!!

I like it except no one should have to deal with Captain Plugola and The Whinny Little Bitch in the morning on their way to work. Therefore make Bernsie and Mully 6-10, Goff and Abbattacola 10-2, Boers and Hanley (he will give up the writing if paired with his idol in drive time) 2-6, Doug Buffone and LH 6-8, North and Murph 8-12.

I know this is completely unrealistic, but it would give the station a shake up while developing a new show that shows promise (Goff and Drinky).

I thought about a Boers/Hanley pairing, since Hanley's my favorite sub for DB, and Terry and Brian have roots going WAY back on WSCR. But, I don't see any change from Boers if he's got another one of his guys next to him. Plus, I don't know if Hanley would ever disagree with Boers, I thkn Drinky would talk back to the Diddler.

North would never work 8-12, that would only leave him 2 hours for the world tour. Plus, the fan bases of both guys are probably similar, 40-50 years old, male, closet homosexuals.

I don't think they are all that similar. Like him or not, Murph actually talks sports. I refuse to say he is as unlistenable as the MNMShitfest. I don't even like to think about the people who listen to North, I'm depressed enough by my fellow man. Murph takes calls that are coherent and have a point. Does anyone call North if he is not giving something away?

Counselor....I'll rephrase.

Both gentlemen skew to the older demographic, if for no other reason than I can't see anyone under 40 enjoying either guy's shtick. Murph because he's Wally Phillips reincarnated, and North because he can't relate to those who aren't like him (old and rich).

North relates to dopes, be they rich or poor, old or young.. Murph, I like him. Its the Cub fan in me, I guess. One thing we can agree on Hummer, is that North sucks. :D

Examples, Nas?

North/Buffone- both old
Mully/Hanley- both middle aged
TB/DB -closest thing to young/old, but DB (IMO) isn't young
Murph/Fred -see Mully/Hanley
TB/Mac- uh-uh
North/Jiggetts- no
Drinky/Horny- both young
LH/ZZ- both young
Hub/Lou -nope
Mike/Fred/Anne -no again
Mac/Jiggs - try again

The only young/old pairing I can think of the Canelis/Holmes and they aren't a permanent pairing.

Let me know what young/old WSCR pairings I'm missing

Well, 2 isn't "always," now is it?

To you, DB is "young?"

Drinky = young, Goff = young, LH, ZZ, Rongey = young.

DB = not young.

Hood, Telander, and Buffone was a radio abortion...a rich doofus writer from the North shore, a former athlete with the neanderthal gene, and a South side guy from the barbershop. That clusterfuck had more to do with 3 guys having NOTHING TO RELATE TO rather than an age difference. I will agree, though, that said age difference didn't help.
