Hawaii -1.5 vs. Notre Dame
-Notre Dame has no idea what they have done in scheduling this game. Notre Dame fans will learn what fans of other teams have learned, stay away from Hawaii.

Central Michigan -6.5 vs. Florida Atlantic
-Basically a home game for Central Michigan.

TCU/Boise State over 45.5
-I don't normally play over/under's but I think that both offenses show up stronger than the defenses. Even if it's a blowout, I think one team approaches 40 points.

Rick, TCU has a phenomenal defense and BSU is stronger on the defensive end this year than the offensive end.

Wake Forest -3 against Navy
Teams played earlier this year with Navy winning straight up as a big road dog. Navy did this purely on turnovers. I don't think the season is so different that Navy is now 14 points better for a line in a semi home game. Three points seems easy. I contend that Navy's success is based largely on opponents lack of familiarity with their offense. Well that is not true of Wake here, and they have a very good defense. First game of the bowl season and it is one that I would pound.

Hawaii -1.5 against Notre Dame
Part of picking bowl games is to be a psychologist. Who wants to be there. Well, ND wants to be there, they just don't want to play football...after a week in sunny Hawaii...on Christmas Eve. Hawaii is not as explosive as under June Jones but the defense is a bit better. Picking against the Warriors on the island is always a tough proposition. Even more under these circumstances. This will really be a nice one to watch while sitting next to my ND in laws at the party.

I can't disagree with anything that you say, but I still find 45.5 to be low for two teams that have put up the points they have this season in a bowl game on a neutral field.

As I said, I don't play the over/under's much so maybe my analysis is incorrect but I like my chances that either both teams score in the middle 20's or one team gets closer to 40 and dominates the game. I don't forsee the game ending 13-10.

Maybe it would have been more accurate that I think the offenses will perform better against the defenses than expected.

BYU +3 against Arizona in Las Vegas
The shocking reality of Las Vegas is that it is and always has been a Mormon town so I expect it to be a home game for the boys in the magic underwear. I liked playing against BYU in the second half of the year as they feasted on nobodies...well Arizona is a nobody.

Don, I think you need to start a new thread. You cannot edit posts in a poll thread and this one is going to be cumbersome without editing.

I am switching my BYU play to Arizona

Arizona -3 against BYU
It will be a BYU crowd and the Jekyl Hyde Arizona defense is Hyde on the road. However, this is not a true road game and they have extra weeks to practice. Even if UA defense does not play well, its offense has more than enough to stay with BYU. Looking deeper into this game, if UA defense plays as it did at home, this will be a blowout. If it plays as it did on the road, this will be a tossup. I think they will have enough D to cover the 3. Also, I always look for signs of lack of motivation in these bowls, and BYU, appearing in its 4th consecutive Las Vegas bowl, appears to be underwhelmed.

OK, I can finally edit, so here is my official post.

Wake Forest -3 against Navy

Colorado State +2.5 against Fresno State in Albaquerque
I have always liked Pat Hill as a coach. However it is always troubling when a coach is interviewing for another job during bowl season. Even more troubling when he does not get the job. Not a home game for either team, although it is closer to CSU and their fans are showing interest in attending. Motivation seems to be on the side of CSU who are looking to reestablish a nice program. FSU thought it could be better than this. Neither team will stop the other, but I'm not sold on the over as they will both keep it on the ground. Everything seems very close to me, but I like the team with a little more offense from a better conference to getting the points to win straight up in this close one.

South Florida -11 against Memphis
Home game for USF and I think there D will be good enough to keep Memphis to single digits.

Arizona -3 against BYU

Troy -4.5 against Southern Miss in New Orleans

TCU -3 against Boise State
Great game for an early season bowl. BSU is not the offensive juggernaut they have been in the past and TCU has an absolutely stifling defense. The Poinsettia is usually an offensive explosion, but I think this one is going to play at about 20-10.

Hawaii +2 against ND

Central Michigan -7 against Florida Atlantic

West Virginia -1 at North Carolina

Florida State -5.5 against Wisconsin

Cal -9 against Miami

Northern Illiniois pickem at Louisiana Tech

Florida State -5 over Wisconsin
-Wisconsin was not impressive this year and I have a hard time believing they have turned it around.

Missouri -12.5 vs. Northwestern
-Missouri struggled to compete in the Big 12 because it was loaded this year. They are better than their record indicates and prove it here.

Oklahoma State -3 vs. Oregon
-Another Big 12 team that couldn't compete with the Big 12 elite but is still a very good team. I like Oregon but I think we find out just how good the Big 12 actually was this year in the bowl games.

Kansas -10 vs. Minnesota
-I'm making a big bet that the Big 12 is better near the middle than the Big Ten. I think Minnesota has been one of the most overrated teams in the country all year.

USC -9 vs. Penn State
-USC seems to strive in the spotlight here. USC in a virtual home game against a Big Ten team. We've seen this story before.

Ohio State +9 vs. Texas
-I love Ohio State keeping this game close. They've got the experience and I think they use this game to try and erase some of the bad memories of the previous two title games. I expect Texas to have an emotional letdown after thinking they were a deserving championship game participant.

Ball State -2.5 vs. Tulsa
-Obviously the coaching situation at Ball State is a major issue but I feel that Nate Davis is good enough to overcome it. The Buffalo loss was shocking but supposedly half the team had the flu that week. I think they bounce back in a big way.

Florida -3 vs. Oklahoma
-I feel Florida is the better team and the speed of Florida will be too much. I also can't doubt Tim Tebow as he's the best weapon in college football.

Colorado State +3 vs Fresno State- I don't knwo much about Colorado State, but I seen a lot of Fresno this year and didn't win late in the year.

BYU and Arizona over 59- Willie Tuitiama and Max Hall are good quarterbacks, that most people don't know about, and will put up points in the Las Vegas Bowl.

Arizona -3 vs BYU: Arizona is a team that is 13 points away from a ten win season. In BYU's only games against bowl quality competition, they struggled with bad beats at the hands of Utah and TCU and a close win against Colorado State.

WEEK 2

TCU -3 vs Boise State TCU has played a tough schedule compared to Boise State and is battled tested.

TCU -3 1/2 vs. Boise State (46)

The game will pit the No. 9 Broncos against the No. 11 Horned Frogs in a game that matches a top-13 offense against the nation's second-best defense.

The Broncos averaged 49 points over their final five games of the regular season, but those numbers came against teams with a combined record of 20-38 this season.

The Broncos are trying to complete their second unbeaten season in the last three years, while a TCU win would help the Horned Frogs' resume as one of the elite non-BCS teams in the country. Take the over.
