Nas, Drew had 16 & 11 rebounds, and I believe Larry had 17 tonight off the bench in the 98-86 Bulls' win over struggling Washington. On the ESPN Radio 1000/Bulls' Radio pregame show before tonight's game, Chuck Swirsky & Bill Wennington went on their soapbox over Hughes' desire to get traded before the February 19th deadline, the radio voices felt that the unhappy Bull was actually hurting his trade value by publicly expressing his desire to put Chicago in the rearview mirror. Chuck & Bill felt that the Bulls wouldn't get anything in return for Hughes by going public about his desire to leave...They even mentioned Hughes not being happy playing with LeBron James before the deal was made around the deadline a year ago, along with constantly being booed by Cavs' fans...

Bill had a better jumper. Wennington could step back and hit that 15 to 17-footer.

If your frame of reference is that game the other night, Hawes had been out over a week with an abdominal strain, but I've seen him hit the 18 footer.

Please list what big man is out there, realisticly.

And show where that team needs one or two small guards that are completely worthless to everyone except Paxson.

If he's still coach, this time next year Vinny will be sprting gray on that wonderful head of hair of his.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! :shaking:  :weelchairbb: You do make a good point though. Do the Bulls really have to have a big or can a scoring 2 or 3 work? There aren't many big men out there that can score and rebound. I think the Bulls need a scorer more than anything to compliment Rose. Would a guy like Vince Carter interest you? He would be a nice fit with Rose and he only has 2 years ($33M) remaining on his deal. Gerald Wallace? Doesn't have a huge contract and he is athletic and can put the ball in the basket (as long as he isn't shooting 3's). Carmelo? Pure scorer and clutch. The Nuggets may want to go in a different direction soon. Wade? The Heat are trying to rebuild and I don't think Wade wants to stick around for that. His value is high right now and Riley loves making deals. Redd? Pure scorer that would be a nice compliment to Rose. Boozer? Will be a free agent after the season (opting out) and with the play of Millsap the Jazz might think he is expendable. Don't forget with the economy the way it is right now a lot of teams are struggling to fill seats. Because of this the salary cap for next season isn't likely to increase and teams may want to sell in order to stay profitable. February may be a great time to buy.

Well, with most of these guys its all about cap space.

Vince Carter? Id take him. A true closer who's still better than everyone on the Bulls roster at this moment.BUT, we have a similar all offense, pylon on D guy in Gordon so, would taking that contract for two years be worth it?
Boozer? Yes also. But would he stick around if hes UFA? With a team that plays pitiful defense like the Bulls I honestly cant see it.

Wade? Of course, but what would it cost some sort of young talent, and I dont know if Reily would take Hinrich, a contract, and Thomas/Noah.

Redd? No

Melo? Do you honestly think they would trade him?
Iam stil under the assumption the guys a corner stone to that franchise, and while they made some stupid moves, it looks like they are building around him, not without him.

Wow, Spencer Hawes, that a big piece to the championship puzzle, Pax is well on his way to building a dynasty around Rose. The Oklahoma City Thunder, at home, good times.

After losing to the lowly Oklahoma City Thunder tonight at United Center, you'd wish head coach Vinny Del Negro & GM John Paxson would throw 3/4 of this uneven roster in Lake Michigan! The Bulls didn't have Luol Deng again & Thabo Sefolosha was out with the flu! The Thunder had only 1 road win all season before tonight in overtime!!! :x

Close.

There are no plans to fire Paxson at all. To the contrary, if he walked in tomorrow and threw down the resignation, Reinsdorf would not take it. At least right away, that I am very sure of. If no trades are able to be made, expect that situation to change.

So to make a call on my part, or anyones part, is pure speculation as nothing is set to happen, but it could change in a heartbeat.

The Bulls are a Sports Phenom. Here they are battling for the bottom of the NBA and they are 2nd in NBA attendance and have been top 3 since Jordan retired! So , no lack of funding exists for this team, considering they own the stadium outright as well, with 20,000 a night! This team has so much cash, they have let guys go like Tim Thomas and just paid them to leave! Just to get a clean slate.

So while the team needs to improve, the turmstyles still spin and spin and no real urgency exists.

I think BigFan brings up a very valid point about attendance. Thanks in large part to so many fans that couldn't see Michael Jordan & the Bulls win 6 NBA Championships in 8 years in the '90s, despite the fact the Bulls have become an NBA punching bag again, they're still among the league leaders in home attendance year after year since the breakup of the title teams right after the 1998 lockout. As for those wanting to see John Paxson as General Manager of the Bulls, the only way that happens is if Pax & Uncle Jerry have another clash over who the head coach of this team should be. I'm convinced that head coach Vinny Del Negro was a Reinsdorf hire, particularly because he was not interested in paying the kind of $$$$ that Mike D'Antoni got from the New York Knicks and that he owed Scott Skiles $4 million for this season.

I just basically repeated BigFan's post for no reason at all.

The Raptors seem very interested in Andres Nocioni and may be willing to deal Jermaine O’neal to the Bulls to get him. A trade that has been discussed involved Nocioni and Larry Hughes going to Toronto with O’neal coming to the Chicago. The Raptors, however, are trying to come up with different variations of deals that would bring Nocioni and Drew Gooden to Toronto.

Gooden is out of tonight's game with two injured ankles...

Getting Hughes out of town would be a good start, regardless of what you get in return. There is still a lot of house cleaning to do after that.
What a mess this roster is, a bunch of sorry-ass sods.

Where did this come from?

Does O'Neal have anything left?

RFDC, it must have been in a Toronto paper or on the Internet before the game last night...Besides, Gooden sat out the Raptors' game with two injured ankles & a groin last night, and likely sits out the nationally televised game tonight with LeBron & the Cavs on TNT.

O'Neal has missed 12 of the Raptors first 40 games. He's been productive, averaging 14 and 7 but he seems to be getting moved past by Bargnani who lit up the Bulls last night and in his last 3, averages something like 24 points and 9 boards. Even if he comes back to the Raptors on Friday, he'll be backing up Bargnani and I'm sure if this is a long term thing, he'll want out. He's due almost 23M for next season and a free agent for the 2010/2011 FA extravaganza. So you'd have to move Hughes (13.5M next season) and Noc (7M) or Gooden (FA after this year, 7M this year) to make it all work.
