Sometimes you go into your favorite saloon and you don't see that guy who has been sitting there every other time you came in. And sometimes, that's OK when you see a new guy sitting at the end of the bar...you talk to him a bit...he has a brain and he brings something to the discussion.

Carmen has a passion for what he does, listens, comments and is real. He doesn't insult you...talk down to you...isn't better than you and doesn't sound like he's unhappy to be there.

Sometimes it's good to change people at your bar. Maybe it's also time to change out the comedian.

One of the main things Carm will have to do is to tell Harry no, if he has an idea for a game that is a little out there, because I am wondering how long he will wait untill we get future Head Lines, or some other crazy game.

Harry also said today that Mac deserved the money he made and made so much, but that was the reason he was let go.

Hey Mac,

Listened to show #1 today, "PM" (post-Mackie). The events of the past few days reminded me of the time when SNL decided to dump Norm McDonald off of the show and replace his "Weekend Update" chair with Colin Quinn. Quinn began his first "Update" with this introduction:

"You know how you go to your favorite bar, and your local bartender isn't there? You ask, "Where's Jeff?" "Jeff no longer works here, I'm Steve." And you're thinking, "Hey, who's this idiot? I like Jeff." But you still want your drink? And even though Steve doesn't mix your drink the same way you're used to, like Jeff, you still like the same bar, you don't want to have to go to a different bar. And even Steve might feel kinda bad because Jeff trained him. Jeff showed him how to work the cash register, where the tonic was on the soda gun, who tips, who doesn't....Well...I'm Steve. What can I get you?"

Today Carm was Steve.

Looking forward to your new gig, Mac.

Very good comparison.

Harry - Comparing Mac leaving the show to Kirstie Alley leaving Cheers????

This is more like Micheal Jordan leaving the Bulls.

So in the words I'll be hearing a lot more of...

HARRY WHO YOU CRAPPIN'

This feels like when my dad took the dog that I raised as a puppy and shot him in the backyard because he had a broken leg and then got me a kitten as a replacement. Actually, that never happened, but I imagine this is what it feels like.

I like all three on a personal level, but I will not give ESPN Radio 1000 my ears for this timeslot for a very long time. Didn't listen at all today and don't plan on coming back. Jim Pastor, maybe they should let you go, try some different things out... And I don't care what bullshit Justin Craig would try to feed me either. It's clear his head is way too far up Mickey Mouse's ass and Mike and Mike's as well. I know this doesn't hurt your sponsorships or ratings, but you lost a P1 listener. I know you don't care at all because all you care about is trying to have every show sound just like Mike and Mike. You know what I think of Mike and Mike Justin and Jim? FUCK THOSE TWO NO TALENT JIM BELUSHI ACCORDING TO JIM ASS CLOWNS!

God, I'm still so pissed off at the station and fucking ESPN for this. Fuck ESPN. Fuck your uncreative garbage you force feed the nation.

I see where you are coming from but it's not right to hang Carmen and Jurko out to dry like that.

I loved Carms reference about Fitzgerald....single teamed. What the hell is that?????? I've heard of man to man, zone, double coverage...but what the hell is single teamed. I have enough trouble with Jurko speak!

I only heard 1 pre-break segment, and Carm did have the M&M tease going. Needless to say, I did not stick around for the payoff. :eye:

Carmen is kind of a jack ass...very Scorish or Bernsteinish if anyone disagrees with him(Like...How dare you the listener question me... the host)
Also he's gonna have to do a better job suppressing the Cub hatred...its obvious and when he denies it it makes it worse.

He's arrogant...which isnt neccessarily a bad thing for a radio host.

I didnt like MAC at first but he grew on me...Not sure if Carm will be the same.

MJH was the only talk show I listened to. And Mac was the "only" reason I listened. I quit WSCR because for me I don't like all their negative talk. And B&B are just 2 kids, not my cup of tea even though a lot of you like that.

I liked Mac because he asked the questions that you and I would have asked. The ones that our Chicago media are afraid to because they all are afraid to. Like parents who want to be "friends" to their kids before being a "parent" first.

Last point. It reminds me of coming home when I was a kid. Turning on the Three Stooges and finding out that Joe was on instead of Curly. I just turned it off. Like I did yesterday after half an hour. Typical office move. The factory workers,us, most of the times know how to run the production line better than management, ESPN. They just don't care or ask us.

That's an interesting point, Carmen is kind of a d bag. I never realized until yesterday. I liked him at night because all three guys would just rip each other and laugh it off. There was great chemistry with Carm, Dickerson and Hood. With this new role, Defalco just comes off like the loud, dumb, long-winded moron that I guess he is.

I dont think hes a moron...but I think he needs to learn how to handle criticism without hanging up on callers (only 1 at espn that does) or resorting to "Im the authority on..."

Like I said hes arrogant but arrogance can work. I hope he does well...if only becasue hes part of the society of people that love My Blue Heaven

...this guys so fast he doesnt wear pants...slows him down...How was she?!!?

Hey it was Harry's quote, ask him. But technically Kirstie Alley eat Shelly Long.

You know, the more I think about it, the more I agree with WR. That said, I'll check this show out again as baseball season approaches. I like MJH, but I've heard enough hockey talk to last me a lifetime. I've sorely neglected my MP3 player, so I'll give that a workout in the coming weeks, and tune back in once Kenny makes a move as Spring Training starts.

Can you name one italian who doesn't fit that description?

All those bars references earlier, Harry is like the guy who annoys the hell
out of you, but you can't do anything because you like his buddy. Well, now
his buddy is gone, and it's open season on Harry T. Deep down, this sumbitch
is laughing his ass off, and reveling in Mac's being let go a little too much.
