Just for a little fun, let's assume that Mac lands back at WSCR sometime this summer or early fall. Who would you like to see Mac paired with and built a show around??

- McNeil & Jurko (assuming Jurko leaves 'MVP when his contract expires this June)
- McNeil & Abbatacola
- McNeil, Jurko & Abbatacola
- McNeil, Jurko & Goff
- McNeil & Boers

or how about my favorite...

Mac, Hampton & Holmes

Mac & Jurko and Stu. Im telling you guys it would work. Stu's Pan Am story is worth it's weight in gold.

Although Jason Goff came up to Mac and said hello to us at the Hawks game and was a down to earth nice guy and you have to love the fact the brother was enjoying a Hawks game. So I like Jason now that I know he's a Hawks fan. :P Very good guy and I like what he does on B&B.

If STU talks using the same level English he types with, I wouldn't be able to stand it for more than 10 minutes.

They could bring back both Mac and Tom Shaer....Imagine, they could bring back the early bird club, schmooze patrol...Kidding of course, as Mac can't stand Tom and it would be a short time before they blew up. Same with Mike Murphy, the tension would be incredible, as they are definitely not on each others Christmas card lists. Rather than using guys that are already on that station (like they did with Harry, because he was already under contract) or guys he has worked with before, I would go with someone fresh. Get a guy who has been a terriffic guest in the past, that has ties in pro sports that might allow him to get interviews with players, coaches. I like Rex Hudler, every time he has been on the air with Mac. That would be a guy I might contact. Someone who has energy and is entertaining. Fly a few guys in, have them do "practice" shows with Mac over a couple days and see who might work out. When the score was first being put together, thats what they did. They did fake shows, just for the practice and to check on the chemistry. Originally Bruce Wolf was going to be paired with Jiggets, until Wolf got cold feet. Then Danny Lee had to figure out who to pair with him. North pleaded for the spot, as he was picked to do weekends only originally. Jiggets said he was willing to give North a shot with him, they tried it out and it clicked. You have to see how guys mesh. Mac was good with Terry before and he probably would be again. But I think it might be best for Danny to get a new partner, a fresh show, as that might provide a better environment for him to come out with a lot of energy and enthusiasm, rather than being in a situation where you are stepping back into an old pair of shoes.

Since you're playing the fantasy angle, Mac and Memolo are entertaining together, as well.

Having never heard the HFC, I'm interested to hear Mac and TB together. But I'm torn on breaking up B&B. I wouldn't mind hearing Mac with one or two new co-hosts. Maybe Mac, Goff, and Drinky would work? Mac, Jurko, and Drinky wouldn't be bad either.

I would like to see the return of "the heavy fuel crew". With maturity, they could take on issues with a true southside bent. The new owners of the Cubs and how "the white sox" could be in big trouble with a Cubbie tv network on the horizon. In the earlier days the banter was often Sophmoric though entertaining. They both can do interviews unlike many others at the score.

solve all your problems w/o messing up chemistry:

Mac and Bruce Wolf, 10-2.

I might be going out on a limb here, but Bruce Wolf may be the one person who is more annoying than Harry.

As a Score listener from day 1 I can assure you that - for those that get it - Boers & Bernstein is a much more entertaining show than The Heavy Fuel Crew ever was...and I say that as someone who was a fan of The HFC. :alien:

I'd vote for Mac & Matt 1st but Jurko could be in the mix as well. That said, I wonder whether Mac even wants a 3 man show. Quite honestly I found the "taking turns" nature of MJH to be a bit trying.

No. Bruce Wolf was way too "schticky", if you catch my drift...it was like instead of regular sports talk banter, he had to do it in that alter ego character, was it called Jim Shorts or something? Keep It...

I don't care how Mitch reshuffles the deck at WSCR, as long as it doesn't include Dan Hampton, and as long as Murph moves to his rightful place: Evenings, talking to Cubs fans after all the summer day games.

So that gives him:

Mulley
Hanley
McNeil
Boers
Bernstein
Jurko ???
Holmes
Drinky ???

That provides many viable options.

I will continue to push for Mac and Hood.

Out of the groupings on your list I like Mac and Drinky.

How about Mac and Annika Sorenstam? If the goal is to find opposites that counteract each other...need more?
