This family needs to go! Only the fans of this team keep the fire alive, as the family treats it like a sheltered child.

almost every team in every sport honors the ex stars that played for them. The Bears are one of the very few teams that don't embrace their stars in any formal group etc, they don't welcome them, they don't incorporate them at all.

Butkus, Ditka, Sayers, Hamp. These guys are HOF players and the Bears dont use them to have any influence on current players.

They ran off Singletary and Rivera. Singletary run off by Ted Phillips and Chico by Lovie.

Maybe if the Bears created an atmosphere of tradition, it might evne save them a dollar or two for guys that WANT to play and coach in Chicago?

I've always hoped that after Ginny passes away they will sell the team. If they don't things will get worse.

I'm sorry but ever notice how its primarily the ex-Bears or their lapdogs in the media who are the primary ones stirring this crap up each off-season? Why? What has any ex-Bear aside from Jeff Fisher (who followed Buddy Ryan to Philly for a # of years) done as a pro coach? Nothing? Next to nothing? Rivera got lucky in SD with the easy schedule he headed the D over, Singletary was a .500 coach in arguably one of the worst divisions in NFL history? Les Frazier headed a D with the Williams', Jared Allen and a good number of talented/proven players? Jim Harbaugh isn't even the best coach (or second best) in his own family, but how long until fans pine for his return?

Isn't it enough that ex-Bears don't have to pick up tabs in this town, had considerable doors opened for them in the business community, have plenty of appearance (fee) opportunities and lots of paychecks from media companies loving to tug at the fans' (old Bear) heartstrings? Now we still have Adamle, Jiggs, Thayer, Hamp, OB, Buffone, Waddle, whomever else has been on Comcast recently? Three of whom have rings, none of which fail to see the light of day when there is a promotional($) opportunity available.

Frankly I'm tired of all of the 'old' Bears and this pining for Bear tradition/old Bear inclusion. Bear tradition for me is no playoffs for the first ten years of my life. No playoff wins until I was in college? One title, followed by dramatic underacheivement and threee(3) largely meaningless playofff wins until the horrible, horrible Lovie era  . Since '64, one title. One. By a team that has been a cash cow for a family that seemingly has no abilities, talent or desire to do anything than cash checks. And frankly with players and coaches that in retrospect were, and continue to be wildly overrated. But they're needed for this current crop to win/max out? Please.

I disagree. I think they've been doing an above average job of running the Bears since 2000.

I see your point. But to answer your question, Mike Ditka won a Super Bowl and had a pretty successful coaching career.
