I thought Crede was called up a few times and played too much at the end of one season to be considered a rookie when he started his first full season....?

Hmmm...you're probably right. C. Lee? Olivo?

Edit: Brian Anderson in '06.

I was thinking Lee or Ordonez...and if not them maybe Ventura, but I figured it had to be more recent than 20 years ago since they had that "the kids can play" slogan, there HAD to be a rookie starter somewhere in there...or not.

1. Not sure they have had one, gold gloves are pretty recent. Lance Johnson? Jim Landis was probably the best defensive CF they have ever had.

2. Brian Anderson, CF 2006 if you aren't counting Alexi Ramirez. Mark Buerhle started Opening Day in 2001 I think.

Here's a question that will win somebody a serious prize 10 or 15 years from now. In game 3 of the '05 Series, how did the Sox score the 7th and final run of the game? Who drove in who and how did he do so? Take a guess if you don't know....try not to look it up.

That's a very good question, because as good as he played in center field before moving on to Philadelphia & San Francisco, Aaron Rowand never got the Gold Glove in center for the White Sox. :( I think the last Sox player to win the Gold Glove in center was Ken Berry in 1970...It's been awhile since ANY White Sox player won the Gold Glove in the outfield. Besides, as good as Joe Crede was at third base for the Sox, Eric Chavez of the A's always won the award at the hot corner.

Triple Play Trivia:

1) Who was the last Sox player to hit an inside the park grand slam?
2) Who was the last Sox player to hit two inside the park home runs in one game?
3) Who was the first player to hit an inside the park home run in new Comiskey?

I miss it as well. I actually liked that segment even though it would inevitably be won by someone who googled all the answers. :)

In true Triple Play Trivia, I wouldn't be allowed to say if part of the answer is right, but in the interest of time, the answers for #1 and #2 are correct... can anyone knock in #3? Much more difficult than the others... this player played for a west coast team at the time it happened.

I haven't smoked since late October. But I was already a total asshole before I quit so I can't really say I'm worse now. Why, do you have some smokes you're looking to get rid of?

And Frank's right, Joe Crede wasn't a rookie starter on opening day.

And to answer the question I posed here;

Chris Widger knocked in Aaron Rowand on a bases loaded walk.
