is mental!

Interesting interview today with Mully and Handley. He admitted to being injured saying that he essentially had pulled one side of his back as well as suffered shoulder tendonitus. Not sure if anyone else heard it, but I smelled BS.

If it's true, he was really stupid to try to pitch with the injury. Wait a second, are we supposed to believe the injury started last spring, went into the season, where he was so bad they demoted him to AAA, then AA, then single A ball, rookie league and finally the fall instructional league, where he continued to suck and have no luck trying to throw strikes??? No, sorry, I'm not buying it....I will be interested to see how he does with the Orioles. However, with the fact that he will have to face the Red Sox, Yankees and Rays on a regular basis, I doubt he's going to be competing for a comeback player of the year award.

I think I have written this before, but one night at Joe Stone Crab, our waiter claims to have been Rich Hills roomie and teammate at Michigan. Told us the guy has the nastiest curve ball of all time but is/was a head case. Said the guy is a perfectionist. He could be throwing a no hitter and he keeps trying to get better and psyches himself out or if he has a no hitter and one guy gets a hit, he could break down right there from that one pitch.

Turns out the guy was right
