Without naming work places, my wife frequently has had to deal with Murphy when he off the air. She says whenever things don't go his way, he gets very belligerent and will make a scene whether its at work or on the telephone. This has run the gamut of scheduling conflicts that were a result of his lifestyle (not that it's wrong or anything, but even he has things take unexpected turns) and with uncontrollable events at her place of work. Each time he's been exactly as you've described above and these aren't instances where he has been insulted (perceived or real) or mistreated (although he might differ).
My opinion, stated as politely as I can say, is that he's a hothead. I think that just may be the way he's wired, which happens to many people and we all probably know one or two people like that. Regardless, no matter how nicely I try to put it, I still think he's a bit of a jerk.
Does this have anything to do with his show? I think to a small degree it does. He originally was my favorite score host (before I met my wife and she started her current job) because I enjoyed his heavy baseball coverage (and Cubs slant). But over time I found myself tired of his routine and annoyed with how he just can not stop talking, over his callers and even his guests. More than anything, that has led me to absolutely refuse to listen to him.
Anyways, just thought I'd share this proof that Murphy is a POS.

Yeah, I'm saying that this guy took my post off of another board (In this case Larz's Chicagoland Radio and Media) and posted it here as if it was his and he was talking about his wife.

That being said, I am absolutely confident that other wives have the same story..........perhaps even Murph's wife.

you're certainly right about garo aida. I'm still researching this other one. And I'm not sure it's Riles mults...might be an unnamed former Score producer, but I don't think it's Riles. Still figuring that out based on IP addresses.

IF I am the other IP address, let me try and assure you that I am not either Riles or garo. I never worked at WSCR or in radio. I am a stay at home father of triplets and one has Cerebral Palsy and Hydrocephalus. My IP is a comcast.net IP and I am in the SW burbs near Joliet (I can't give out everything). Since I don't listen to WSCR much any more, I really haven't had much to say here, but I was trolling the other night and I saw this post and I had to respond, and that meant I also had to register.
