Just a random thought. I don't think they have. Sometimes I check in late at night or on the weekends and it's alwasy a boaring white guy or girl talking about gardening or movies.

I know they've never had a black guy doing Cubs baseball.

I seem to remember a guy named Floyd Brown doing work on WGN radio years ago. And yes, Brown was black.

Ok. That might be the only one. It's been all white since I've been listening. Even for their sports shows which you would think might include some black athletes. Who have they had? Hampton, Koslowski and Waddle. Three Polar Bears. Kaplen and Memelo are their sports hosts now. They also had that white guy that got arrested for trying to bang a teenager.

I'm shocked Jesse Jackson hasn't been on their ass. How long has WGN been around? Since the 1930s I think. You'd think they'd hire some black people. Let's be honest, that station is for people who are scared of black people.

you are right, but WGN doesn't exactly have a lot of turnover where a lot of new hosts of any race gets air time. now that you mention it, it does seem surprising though.

I know they are never gonna have a black host for their weekday shows. They do have news guys and girls that gives updates. They are white. Their weekend and over night people are white. I don't know their names but I know they are white. Like I said, they never have black guys for their sports shows. Never in the Cubs booth. Why didn't Ernie Banks or Billy Williams get it instead of Santo? Their pre game host is always white.

Back in the DeWayne Staats days, his sidekick was I think Davey Nelson? or some such. He had a habit of telling strange stories about his "roommate." That apparently wasn't gay enough for the Cubs as they then brought on the unparalleled Thom "Mysterious broken jaw in hotel room mishap" Brenneman.
Of course we all know Joe "Wildfire" Carter would be a legend in this town if he only had been on radio and not TV.
