First I may be voted out of Cub fandom for saying this but I really like US Cellular Field. I love tailgaiting and I like the park overall. My only complaint is the loud music.

Secondly it's hard to believe but in the 18 years since the place opened, 23 teams including the Yankees and Mets this year have opened new ballparks.

The only teams in 2009 playing in their stadiums longer than the Sox are the Cubs, Royals, Red Sox, Dodgers, Blue Jays, Mariners and Twins (who will move out of their park after this season).

It's nicer than most people think, but it's still not the "popular" or "cool" place to be. That's fine with me.

A tip to those who are attending games this year -- the steak pita is a must have... excellent ball game fare.

It is very fan friendly and very family oriented. Esepcially since they remodling, its a great place to see a game. Ample parking, bathrooms, and concessions, and except for nosebleeds and the foul pole, no obscructed view seats.

I'll agree with this, stuff for kids to do, good booze and food. Only thing I hate is the damn noise between innings and batter and pitches. TOO music-clippy. I came for a nice ballgame, not a damned pop concert.

The Deli sammies on the 100level in the RF corner are fucking excellent. Fairly cheap too for ballpark fare- sandwich, chips, and a pickle was I think $6 last year.

I go to 3 cub games a year, when the play the white sox at the cell. I take a beating for this, but I hate wrigley, the cell is so much better, you cant even compare the fields.

When I cut myself, blue blood comes out. But I have never changed my stance that the lower bowl at Comiskey is the best place to just sit and WATCH A GAME around. Wrigley is my shrine, but as far as just sitting and watching the game on the field, it's not even close.

As a Cubs fan I hate watchig baseball at Wrigley. Probably why I havent been there for a game in ten years. Comisky is much better. I usually go to a couple of Sox games every summer to get my baseball fix.

I always liked watching a game in the Cell (even in the mid to late 90's when the in-thing to do was to bash the park), sitting in the lower sections or even the first few rows in the upper deck are a good place to watch a game.

But then again all i want is too watch the game, just give me an unobstructed seat (either at Wrigley or the Cell). Don't care about the food (just give me a hot dog), and I usually don't drink alot so I don't need to use the restroom too often.

When the NEW Comiskey Park opened in 1991, it didn't look anywhere near what places like Baltimore's Camden Yards, Cleveland's Progressive Field, Arlington, TX's Ballpark & Denver's Coors Field would look like among old-school baseball parks. It actually resembled the Rangers' old Arlington Stadium when it first opened. Since undergoing massive renovations, and also signing quite a contract with U.S. Cellular for the naming rights, the home of the White Sox looks much better & the food is supposed to be among the best in the game, too.

Dude, take the Pace bus from Woodfield. It drops you off right at clark and addison, and picks you right up there. NO hassle and it's like $3 a person, far cheaper than driving/parking even under top conditions. I don't think I'll ever go any other way again.

I understand the complaints of bathrooms, councourses, and even obstructed views at Wrigley, but I never understand the "hard to get to" complaint. Both are just as hard to get to, depending on where you are coming from. I pay $20 to park at every game at Wrigley, then walk about 3 blocks to the stadium. I believe it's about the same price at the Cell, and the walk is just as far, but it's just across asphalt lots instead. The traffic an hour before the game at each stadium? Guess what, it sucks. I go earlier to both places if I can, that saves in the headache. If you get there early at the Cell, you eat drink at your car. At Wrigley, you eat/drink at a bar.

You could even walk that in less than 30 minutes. 6 blocks.

I echo Dark Sides comments. The park is fine, but at times it feels like a Minor League production with all the sound effects going on.

Wrigley is outdated, its a POS. Yes, its a great field to watch a game at, but since I dont to get to sit in the dugout, its a pain in the ass. I have been to the cell, Miller park, Coors field and a few others and wrigley comes in last in every catagory. Its not about the food, parking and all the other stuff I mentioned really, its just once you go the newer MLB parks, wrigley looks like the dump it is.

Let me say this, I prefer to watch baseball from my couch, watching a game at wrigley on tv, its great, in person, just not for me.

Wrigley will make a great museum, and is the most picturesque stadium in all of sports. But I agree with Van- compared to a lot of other parks, Wrigley really is shown to be the outdated dump that it is.

Wow. No props for Comiskey Park's kosher hot dog. All those nitrates are actually good for you and the thing tastes heavenly with just a bit of mustard.
The kosher dog has been a Must Eat for 5 decades (or more).
Best enjoyed with a little Mother's helper (pre game, of course!).

Mother
Mother has multiple teardrop shaped light green buds glistening with golden resins adorn this plant at every node. Her scent is as sweet as candy. She is the ultimate Mother plant to fulfill your outdoor operation or sea of green needs. Clones require very little vegetative time and elongate well. Flip as soon as roots are established especially for hydro operations. In a two gallon pot expect yields of 70-85 grams / 2.5-3 ounces when flowered for 7-9 weeks.

I'm pretty sure that the Mariners moved into Safeco well after the Sox moved into the Cell, and that Oakland & Anaheim stadiums are older buildings (mid 60's) with recent renovations.
Also, the TB dome abortion is older than the cell, but since you spun your phrase as "playing in their stadiums longer" you are correct on a technicality.

Safeco is one of my favorite ballparks I've visited. The roof was open for every game I went to (4 total) otherwise I may have a different opinion. Coors Field is also very nice and it has some fun bars nearby which makes for a fun atmosphere.

Agree on both counts.
A summer evening at Safeco with the roof open is close to a perfect setting for baseball.

I coudn't believe the size of the outfield at Coors.
I would bet that the entire Camden Yards structure would fit on the coors playing surface

I'vr been to Camden Yards and Myf wife's been to the new Busch and the all have the bars on the outside to match wrigley. Wrigley just sucks donkey balls for 2009. If you gotta pee and you're in the upper deck, yer gonna piss yourself waiting in that line. People pissing in the sink too. TWO fucking restrooms for the whole upper deck is a travesty. And try to go have a drink after a game. If you can get to the bar to order a drink, try finding a place to stand. And then the mother fuckers (twenty something tuff guys) want to bump and plow their way through. Then maybe start a fight if you look at them funny.

They need a new park. Its not even a pretty stadium when you're there. Sure from foul pole to foul pole it beautiful. The rest is terrible and the bar scene is very over rated. Unless you get the Cubbie Bear early.

Going to a Sox game with a group or your family is a much better experience. If you give yourself plenty of time, tailgating is the way to go. Its a great atmosphere!

Never had a problem at Wrigley. My wife hasn't had a problem at Wrigley, even when she wears her Cards gear. My boys haven't had any trouble there either. They get hinky, we just leave.
I don't go to bars and I take the L.
If they get a new stadium, great. If not, great. Win/win.
